It's easy to blame Karlsson, but he's not the problem on the PP. He's getting a step on opposing teams players to make a play, but no one moves. No one tries to get open, no ones screening. So he keeps looking for tips. When someone does get in the right position, it's too late and the shot is blocked.

I say this almost every game, Sullivan is an awful coach. He makes the Pens play soft and predictable hockey and every other teams coach knows it. It doesn't matter if the Pens win or lose this game, the problems aren't suddenly going to get fixed.

I bet this team would go big run after coaching change. Their style is way too predictable at the moment
I think we all figure at worse, they continue to lose with a new coach and can still make a choice in the off season vs a coach that seems to have immunity from all things negative with this team. At best, we see a spark.

But I think the biggest issue with this team is the fact that they have so many of the core that just get what they want that it’s problematic. I would move out some of the players right after firing Sullivan, a week of the new coach seeing how he likes certain things and then start gutting.

PK basically goes to shit anytime someone on the unit comes back from injury. It’s weird.

They’ll be fixed if Dubas gets the balls to fire Sullivan

Metro is absolutely floundering and the Pens can't do better than 1-9 on the powerplay and pick up 4 easy points. Just a pathetic team the last two years.

But hey gotta play Carter! I mean really this team isn’t slow by the players they have I think, outside of maybe just the older Carter that struggles to keep up at times and never should be playing this much anyway. But the way the Pens play, it doesn’t have any sort of flow to it.

The entire system thinks it has a transition game but then have so many breakdowns trying to accomplish it. A bloke like Ty Smith would at least just do it by instinct but I would just rather keep him in WBS at this point until Sullivan and his staff is fired so as not to ruin more players.

Pens go on a winning streak to get into the wild card hunt and right when other teams start losing they become shit again. This team has been the antithesis of clutch since 2018

Sam Reinhart also has as many PPGs by himself as the Penguins do as a team

No one here is counting on a win. A few of us are counting on a point though.
This team doesn’t even deserve it. I want them to wallow on the 1pt out of a possible 4 and see what dumb comment Dubas has “Oh I need another month to assess” like mother f***er, who assess this much when it’s painfully obvious this team f***ing needs a coaching change.

Karlsson on the PP and Graves on the PK are turning out to be killer weaknesses of this team. Great job, Dubas.

Karlsson is sooo bad at PPQB. We could see it on that last one.
How is that Dubas' fault and not this garbage coaching staff which has failed many years in a row at having a competent PP or competent anything

I am in the camp a couple more losses and Dubas has to see a different picture. Unfortunately. the contracts are just not moveable until after next season. Sully has to go but I think the off season will give Dubas reasons to do so. Pens miss the playoffs and Sullivan is let go. Changes have to be made and Dubas has to move off the cup contender moves and into retool the roster to be well coached and play well.

The Pens are worse this year than last and literally added a f***ing Norris winner and better goalie depth as well has having young players that are primed to be called up only for the coach to prioritize veterans anyway. The play we’re getting out of Doc, Puustinen, Smith & Poulin in WBS, etc should be something we would be excited about if used correctly, but obviously blokes like Harkins need 60+ games to get at least 1 goal and White without a single f***ing point deserves top 6 ice time.

This is self inflicted stupidity by the coach. Some f***ing muppet was on about how the Pens after the 44 game mark had 48pts and won the cup in cherry picked seasons and then ignored the fact that same time last year, they had 51pts. LOL, the Pens media is just grasping at imaginary straws to make up any f***ing narrative to keep the heat off of Sullivan.

Well, Dubas has also retained the coaching staff.

It's not like we weren't forewarned that EK was secretly a pretty ineffective PPQB.

They forget that they score most of their goals with simple shots on net that get saved but also produce rebounds that they then score on. Stop trying to reinvent the wheel. It’s hockey.

Those redirects are nothing but hope plays 95% of the time. Stop passing up good shots for them.

This is so true. When's the last time a Penguin has tried a Pass off the Pads (I saw Mtl do one tonight)? It's like we've forgotten that shots create rebounds. Shots create #chaos.

One thing I will blame Dubas for is that we needed depth, but not so many veterans that this coach would now obviously pick them over the young players that are playing well and deserve the chance. He went so ham with Hinostroza, White, Harkins, Acciari, bringing Zohorna back to be demoted back to the AHL, etc that he forgot oh shit yeah this team is older and needs competition for youth.

Dubas apparently did zero research just like his coach does. Went and added a bunch of veteran depth that his coach loves and now is wasting more youth. I just hope DOC, Puustinen, Poulin, and T. Smith get moved to another team so we can actually see what they’re capable of on a team where the coach isn’t a massive ignorant twat.

Dubas added so much veteran depth that he shit all over the young lads we had that should have a spot to move up and this coach has a hard on for vets so if he sees a veteran option even if the young player is out playing them by a mile, he chooses veterans and waxes poetic about how many games they have under their belts.

I hate gambling but I would put money on both being standouts in those same roles under a new coach.

Out of the 107 times a team has won a Stanley Cup, 105 of those times was a coach not named Mike Sullivan.

Just saying, in case people thought the already slim odds would somehow decrease if they tried something different.

Bourque acting like this Habs team didn’t take the Pens into OT and only lost in Shootouts this season, shove that stat right up your geriatric ass, Phil.
