He could be nursing something so he should sit, but if he’s not he’s been playing half-ass hockey for almost a month now. He needs a firm talking to from someone he respects at the very least.

I agree, Mitch and Bunts were giving up good chances hand over fist back in the Hart year, during Matthews March to 60. I don't recall if it cost the team any points but it's not beyond the realm of possibility that it did.

Marner was dancing when there was acres of open ice, but when they clamped down they weren’t doing much. Even Knies was flying around in the first two periods.

Maybe so, but it doesn't mean I have to like it. It's not hard to put on some muscle. These guys can't devote 4 hours to the gym each week and eat properly?

He was very good for his position and pay before this year... I really have no idea what's happened to him.. but we certainly should move on if we can.

For his size, he's pretty strong. He was squatting 375 for example. Size does not always mean power.
He gave up on the second goal.
Can't do that when you're talent is that you have no talent.

Mitch always defers to Matthews, he’s always looking for him. He doesn’t do that so much with JT. When it’s working, it’s awesome, but Mitch needs to be more selfish, when he has looked to shoot, the balance is there. This year I think he was on pace for his lowest shot total.

You play him because he's your best f***ing player and he's going to figure it out, he was good tonight you just didn't notice instead of 2 goals he had 2 assists, him and Marner switched roles tonight.
Sitting Matthews would be incredibly stupid, but sitting him against Boston would be extra stupid.
They have 4 or 5 days off after the Boston game lots of rest coming

He is, and within a few weeks they will be neck and neck with Boston and Florida at the top of the division because they have a very generous schedule for the next while. But they still have to sort out the bottom two lines and get a healthy defense in order to figure out where changes have to be made. Basically, a work in progress, but it's a lot easier to do that work when you sitting at or near the top of your division. For all of the complaining people are doing about the OT/shootout points, these are useful points at this time of year.
