Post-Game Talk: Leafs win in SO after giving up another two goal lead

Let me tell you about this guy named Wayne...
People kinda believe in BMI too much. It's actually wildly inaccurate.

Certain people can't bulk up but they're lanky and great athletes... some can do it all... but it doesn't mean shit in how good you're going to be overall depending on natural ability and talent. It helps a lot but it's not everything.

Natural talent and iq generally overcomes.

Me too. More reps less weight for me.
Yeah. definitely less weight for me these days. Once I passed 50, it became more about doing the reps safely than trying to push numbers. But muscle mass becomes even more important as you age. Obesity is the biggest killer in the western world.

Leafs are 7-2-1 in the last 10. But it somehow feels like it's 2-7-1 the way they seem so disconnected and don't have their fundamentals down and leaky in all positions, defense banged up and key players just not really firing on all cylinders.

Not sure what that means, if they'll turn a corner and really take off, or if all the holes in their game will bury them. Just a very strange feeling season so far.

There is both good, and bad in this... that they've collected points, when they play so terribly is positive, in that if they can turn things around in quality of play, they'll have a great season. On the flip side, playing like this, if they continue, they aren't likely to continue scoring points at this rate.

They've managed to find a way to collect points, through lazy and poor play... let's hope that they find ways to turn on the switch for full games at some point.

BMI shows people with large amounts of muscle as overweight... As you said, it's incredibly flawed.

It's good to mix it up. More reps, much slower on the negatives with lighter weights some days.. and heavier on others.

Maybe I've asked before. Viszla?

I'm happy with the 2 points, however I'm very unhappy that this team can't overpower lesser teams the way they should be able to.

Thank you Marner. Thank you Woll. Very little thanks to the rest of the team !!!

Giving up 2 goal leads is unacceptable, and getting really old now. They need to realize that practicing OT in the regular season doesn't help them in the playoffs. No 3 on 3 or shootout to be had in the playoffs FFS, so stop practicing it so much.

When will our Leafs have every player show up in games and DOMINATE? Marner showed up, however Nylander has gone stone cold to match that of Matthews.

Wake up and play to your salaries in every stinking game against all opponents, bad or good !!!
I agree with most of this but Nylander going stone cold?!? Matthews had 2 assists and was +1.

C'mon. Nylander... It's been about 3 or 4 games lol.
Guy has been on fire all season and he still looked great this game he just didn't get any bullshit assists.

Get to the gym fellas

Excellent goaltending by Woll. Nice to see Marner with energy, looks like he got his mojo back.

But, this team has a lot of work to do. Too often they were beat to pucks and outmuscled. They can’t continue with this defence. Woll is not going to save their ass every night.

Btw, what is wrong with Matthews? He looks clueless out there. Not knowing when to shoot, clumsy with the puck, he’s lost his shot. Not worth $6mill nevermind 13. Effort is lacking.

Marner and Woll outstanding, and McCabe (who I’m normally not a big fan of) was quite noticeably good too.
The only real issue with McCabe is you really, really don't want him trying to move the puck out of the D-zone...

Matthews had two assists, but you can't really argue he's playing well at all. He's not shooting like he should, and he's not skating like he should. And I lost count of the number of times he let his man go. And what's he doing in the 3rd period of a tie game blowing the D-zone before the Leafs even took control of the puck? They were hemmed in for a while because he left Knies and Nylander alone while he went for a skate into the neutral zone and back...

Never been on the Seattle board before. Surprised to see how few posts they have in their GDT.

Maybe I've asked before. Viszla?
She is indeed a Viszla. I've owned hunting dogs all my life, but this one has a prey drive like nothing I have seen before. Incredible in the field, and a goofball at home with the kids.

On pace for 23 regulation losses. Add even one good d-man and we will rarely lose.
It's amazing to me that no one pays attention to the loss stat. This team rarely loses. You may hate the way they win, but they don't lose.

3 GSP's, 3 Braque D'Auvergne's in the past, and a Deutsch Drathaar coming next year. Fogelhund name comes from my first GSP's kennel name, rough translation of Vogelhund, being Bird Dog in German.

Found a way to win, I've seen us butcher plenty of games we should have won so it's nice to see us getting points even when we're struggling

I'd also like to point out half the defense core are guys that all things being even wouldn't be even close to playing in normal circumstances

Woll looks calm and composed, impressive for a kid that inexperienced and great to see Mitch take over a game

It was just a matter of time

Are they working dogs for you? I train mine on ducks. These dogs are only here for a short time (my oldest V made it to 13), but my god you will never find a more loyal friend in your life. My dogs don't leave my side, and that's the way I like it.

Thank God Marner's hat trick wasn't wasted.

Another night where they needed 4 to win

And you guys wonder why I'm concerned about the goaltending.

I know they have a great offense I wish they didn't need to rely on it so much.
You had a problem with the goaltending tonight?? Good lord Woll saved the bacon of this near inept defence and forwards who think defensive responsibilities are dirty words. AHL defencemen,Brodie’s heart may not be in it, and McCabe who is awful in his own end. We have a burgeoning number one here.

They were pets first. Two of the GSP's were titled in field.. one MH, and Water retrieval. Two of the three Braques, plus the two mentioned GSP's were hunter over. The DD will be fully trained and NAVDHA tested. They all had plenty of opportunity to run in the field, and learn what they can in Ontario... which isn't much in Southern Ontario most of the time.

We need to play way better yet 12-6-3 with all the injuries on defence, and Marner finally coming through. You take it.
Keefe has his flaws and he's shown them already this season, but the coach should get credit for keeping this afloat.

My current one, despite being trained on ducks, still sometimes struggles in deep water. I probably should have trained her in the water earlier.
