Muzzin and Holl are fine if they don't have to leave their own zone.

Problems are when they venture past their own blueline.
Uh... I don't think they'd be any good if they couldn't leave the D zone at all.

I do find it funny that Muzzin skating down the left side of the O zone and giving up the puck has caused at least three odd man rushes in the other direction so far this season, though. When Marner gave him the puck late on the 3rd he had a wide open half of the net but kept bobbling the puck while Lindgren slowly recovered.

Played well and deserved to win

The goaltending certainly improved as the game went on and I didn't want to strangle Holl so big improvement there

Once again, Matthews scores to break the tie, 31 seconds later Muzzin gets an interference call.
Then 2 more penalties.
Remember when we were told that game management was to keep penalties equal?
They were equal. Until we went up 3-2
Then 3 straight.

The Leafs get penalized for scoring.
How is calling penalties based on score NOT game fixing?

Controlled the majority of the game, fewer mistakes than last night and was nice to push our way to a win.

Good on Samsonov to settle in after that second goal. Murray seemed to go the other way after his stinker.

Obviously a much better game than last night. Better attention to detail, more physical across the board, Samsonov let in a real bad how but battled back and was steady the rest of the way. Hope Murray can turn the same trick of beating your former team on Saturday.

We won and everything is good again, plan the parade.

Only managed to watch the last half of the 1st and the last half of the 3rd- right before AM/Gio scored.

Samsonov got more poise than expected. D corps are still a bit slow, I really like the our mid 6 and PK. The forth line is as advertised. Also good to see AM starting to have the desire to take over game.

Happy JT is off to a good start ... he started last season off well too but I think some injuries caught up with him which happens with age.

Hopefully his ability to train all offseason and not recovering from his concussion will help keep him going through the season.

On a scale of (little tinkle on the middle of his seat) to (Massive Urine Monsoon), how much did Dubas pee himself after watching Sammy give up that 2nd goal ?

Big win. Everyone can exhale now.

The second Washington goal was worse than any against Murray but at least it only happened once. He shut it down when Washington came on the end of the second.

Willy and JT continue to play well, and I slagged Jarnkrok yesterday but he looked pretty good with a few chances.

Mitch and Matthews need time to build up their chemistry.

Sandin looked very good as well, confident.

Engvall needs to use his size and speed a lot more.

I didn’t hear Ovi’s name or even really see #8 until the refs started managing the game in the second. Kuznetzov and our boy Brownie were their best forwards, and Carlson was good but has lost a few steps.

Overall a much more enjoyable, fast game than last nights clunky, awkward game.

I’m glad they won.

They outplayed Washington, deserved the win, but still realllllyy sloppy.

Marner first star? Was I watching the same game?

I like Samsonov’s body language. Yes, one bad goal. I like him. I would like to see him get the next game, but probably gonna be Murray again.

Brodie and Muzz look rough.

Good game, still got lots of rust to shake off but when Liljegren comes in assuming he's another year experience slightly better this team could really take off.

Nylander and JT finally showing some chemistry which is great to see. I actually do notice Tavares skating faster maybe that's got something to do with it.
