You didn't like his game? What aspects of it, he isn't a game breaker by any means but I don't think he caused anymore than minimal damage or at least no huge glaring holes in what he's supposed to do.
I thought the 4th line actually did what they're supposed to do and that's to come out pretty much net neutral with their minutes. Although to be honest I did miss the opening 10 minutes or so, in fact I tuned in just moments before Samsonov let that shot leak through him giving the Caps the lead.
I am looking through the lens of winning spots. If I were to rank order LW positions currently playing, he would be the one at the bottom that Robertson could theoretically compete against in the short run

Drop Malgin to the Tavares line and have Jarnkrok on the right? That's another possibility.
With the cap situation all they can do at this point is load up the top two lines and hope Kampf can hold the fort.

I’m watching him closely, i thought Malgin was virtually invisible last night, a complete passenger. JT and Nylander were pretty effective as a duo, which masked what Malgin actually contributed. Is he worthy of a top 6 role? He scored an easy tap in anybody could score in the first game, and had a breakaway. This game nothing, so I remaim unconvinced he’s the answer there.
Thumbs up.

Also can you image Malgin in a playoff series in a top 6 role? He would be such a non-factor. It would take almost no effort for a physical team to eliminate Malgin. Is Malgin actually going to muck it up and be a puck retrieval role for.WN and JT?
