Am I wrong for thinking that Matthews still has another level to reach?

I keep seeing people on Twitter saying he was the #1 star of the game. But I feel like he can take over a game EVEN MORE.

And that's not a knock against him. He was great tonight.

Complete team effort, if they play like this every night, they can beat any team in a Cup Finals. Not backing down to the Habs, giving it out, sacrificing. I've watched the Habs all year as my wife is a fan, no team in the North uses their stickwork more than they do. Leafs just need to push through and punish them on the PP.

For me, the Vintage Line was phenomenal. Simmonds and Thornton were active in front of the net, battling hard, hitting and giving no quarter. That image of Simmonds coming out to block a Weber shot should be on the front page of every Leafs site.

Both Engvall and Gally played excellent games. I'm not sure I saw any other player behind the Habs red line with the puck than Galchenyuk tonight (Thornton was a close second). He played a solid, smart, puck heavy game

I always thought it was weird that people were so eager to get rid of him. That speed with that reach is gold if he's actively using it. If he spends an offseason doing nothing but copying Matthews' shot, he's an easy 20 goal threat just off the amount of breakaways him and Mikheyev create together.
