Roster/Rumors/Speculation/Trade Talk - 2024-25: Re-Tool, Re-Group, Re-Mix, Re-Build

There is a better package out there than what NJ can give up.
I’m also probably not buying in a year where my best player is out. It’s not like they’re in first or anything, they can just let their players get some playoff experience and run it back next season. Devils might go off the board as trade partners completely now

is there anyone left on the keep the faith train except LL? Im not sure even the players are on that train based on their play last night.

a properly executed retool can yield excellent results if we maximize our trades of UFA's and near UFAs, make smart signings and draft well over the next 2 years. Anyone should be available via trade right now. anyone.

Last night put the dagger into the heart of any thought that the Isles are going to make the playoffs let alone advance past the first round IMO. Team showed little urgency against the Rangers who are not very good and will likely suffer against the better teams that their schedule has them playing over the next 12 games. Trade Nelson, Palms, JGP and either Pulock or Pelech if you can and bring in a new GM/Coach by the draft in late June. Also, don't know what Roy was thinking in having Fasching on the 3rd line instead of either Duclair or Engval! Fasching has one assist in 22 games this year -he is an AHL player at best on any good NHL team and that is not an endorsement of either Duclair or Engval who both have been dreadful this year, but at least they have some skill that they exhibit every now and then.

He needs to take this opportunity to shed salary on players that can help other teams compete this year like Pelech and Pulock as well as moving UFA players to become leaner for a retool
