How many goals did Montreal lose by again, Kotkaniemi?

Don’t have the stats to back it up right this minute but goalies that play both nights typically don’t fare well in the second game.

It’s a tough call. I’d personally want Campbell in net for both but don’t think it’s going to to happen.

Is definitely the biggest question mark right now.

I suspect if the Leafs win on Monday they may be more inclined to go with a backup. Then again, may want to ride Campbell for the near knockout. Hard to say!

Great game, Matty with the goal and some physical hits, what Simmonds did at the end could go along way if he can drag a few there guys into being stupid were laughing.

I hope the league lays down the law. The Habs were being outright dirty

They've been playing this way all year. Their back end in particular uses way too much stick work. They are slow as molasses so they try and bring back 1990s style hockey.

If the refs call the game by the book, Habs will almost always be on the losing end of the penalty count. As long as Leafs punish them when they take PPs, it will be a great series for the Leafs.

Everyone keeps talking about this Caufield kid coming in to save the day for Montreal, have they not seen the intensity and physicality of these playoffs?

I'd feel bad for the kid, ease him in, he'd get eaten alive in this series, he'd be known as the small smurf in Smurf village.
Tell me ANY TIME cold cauliflower has won anything for anyone.

Hyman still looked rusty but a lot better compared to game 1, a good sign going into the rest of the series.

I mean I’m not saying that the penaltys the Habs took weren’t penalties.. but the Leafs got away with a lot that could have been.

I was expecting 2-3 Montreal PP’s in the 3rd but the Leafs controlled the game so well

Tonight is what happens when the Refs call the rule book and not aim for even-ups. Yes, we were all anticipating Montreal PPs - which is exactly what's wrong with the game. The next PP should NEVER be based on the previous one. Unfortunately, it is.

If I’m Keefe, I rip the A off Marner and call him out for his game. Absolutely sickening and frustrating when he has the talent and drive during the reg season. Is he hurt? Scared?

On some plays he looks intimidated and you don’t see him with the physique to engage in a lot of the hitting and finishing checks. But he’s just got to keep it simple and make clean crisp plays. He has to realize his value isn’t in making fancy plays.

The hate on Mitch this thread is terrible guy played good tonight I guess two points don’t do much anymore

I don't think it's hate. We've seen all season that this guy can make multiple highlight plays throughout the game. The playoffs get a bit tighter and we haven't seen him make that impact yet.

I think we will see him get more opportunities as the series continues.

It was, but I wouldn't be surprised if we end up with a suspension or fine because of it.

Don't think it warrants a suspension, but who knows these days and with the Duclair hack on Kuch this afternoon

A suspension would be heavy handed considering every single play the Habs make where a cross check or slash is the finishing move but I’m sure the organization would gladly pay the fine.

It's the same Marner from the Columbus series.

Easily boxed out/knocked off the puck and refuses to simplify his game. I'm sure he'll wake up eventually but man is it frustrating to watch, I'm hoping the 2 points can build him some confidence.

One of the rare nights that it doesn't go by evening it up ratio BS.

Hence why Montreal fans are crying for refs bias. Maybe Montreal should've actually showed up. Outside of a few shifts in the first period, they looked literally like an AHL team all night. Even their 6 on 5 for over five minutes was embarrassingly bad.

Isxhechurt..maybe..scared?? Hes a professional athlete....and let's not make this steinbrenner n nilly Martin fiasco. Rip the A off his jersey...dude it's a game not co il war...RELAX
