Your post seemed so out of context with no quote that I thought you posted it by accident while lurking on this thread.

Oh ha ha. No that would be me being a dumbass.

Someone said they'll have fans for game 6... My response was to that. Slim chance but I'll take a 2 nostral sniff.

I rarely even read any other boards on here... Trust me I am the least lurky of the lurkyist.

I hope the biggest impact of this game is psychological. The PP goals, Matthews goal, and the win should do wonders to get the Leafs some sorely needed confidence in playoff games, while at the other end hopefully both Montreal and Price are questioning themselves about their ability to play at the Leafs' level.

That Mikheyev-Kerfoot-Engvall trio is really effective (even Mik was throwing the body around!). Muzzin and Bogosian had strong, unheralded games tonight, while that first goal by Spezza... the veteran putting a dejected team on his shoulders. Montreal fans are whining about the penalties, and certainly we can't count on 5 straight PPs every night, but none of them were not legitimate. Stop crosschecking, stop slashing, stop running picks, and you won't get called -- of course it is also that type of game that is their only hope to beat us. So they pray that the officials swallow their whistles and complain when they don't.

I don't know if that Simmonds slash was retaliation for the hit on Engvall (which likely only escapes a fine/suspension because Engvall wasn't injured) or a product of his earlier scuffle with Edmundson, but it was a richly deserved cheap shot at a player and team that have been taking far too many liberties over the past two games.

Finally... despite this being a relatively solid game, I still feel we have more in the tank, and the reason for that is the 1st line: Marner is still MIA (despite the assist), Hyman still needs to get his feet under him, and together they seem to be holding Matthews back a bit. We really need that line to come to life, especially with Tavares out.

It's interesting that after 3 US team coaches in Brind'Amour, Berube and Cooper calling out the refs, that the refs tonight actually called penalties in the favour of the Leafs...penalties where they've consistently put the whistle away whenever the Leafs play.

That equalizer by Spezza?

Listening to the post game. Steve Simmons with such a clown question for Matthews. Why would I expect anything else. How he has a press pass is beyond me.

If Sandin can get off 98 mph bombs consistently Matthews will finally get some PP looks. Getting those precision passes from Marner will help in teeing it off

Engvall and Galch were both solid in their first playoff game of the year and the PP scored? Overall great night!

The PP looked great! They were moving their feet, slinging the puck around, and taking what was given to them - including zone entries. It was a breath of fresh air. More of that please!!

well this escalated quickly wow lol

It’s a pet peeve of mine. I hate when people call others by something other than the name they introduce themselves with. If some introduces themselves as James or Charles, that’s what you should call them not Jim or Charlie. And it seems the smarmy salesman types are more prone to do it.

Thats more like it. Our top players stepped up especially Matthews.
Marner hasn't been good at all though.

No he hasn't but that should give you hope. Once he picks up his game, we will be in better position
Even Hyman, he was a step behind and didn't have the legs

Jack Campbell? 3 goals against in 2 games.
You forgot something here...
Maybe habs fans were right, there is an elite goalie in this series, he may even be able to change the tide of the series, too bad for Montreal, that he plays in the blue and white uniform:sarcasm::nod::naughty:

I get what you mean. I stopped replying in GDTs all together and that’s helped and I take breaks haha. No real discussions happen there. People overreact and judge the entire season on one play.

Yeah, I just signed up for an account here and on the main boards it's so toxic against Leafs fans that it's hard to read

If we lose game 3 f*** putting Freddy in.

Don’t have the stats to back it up right this minute but goalies that play both nights typically don’t fare well in the second game.

It’s a tough call. I’d personally want Campbell in net for both but don’t think it’s going to to happen.
