How do you **** that up with that much time and space when you're already nearly at the blueline?

I am just laughing at all the Reimer fanboys on here coming out of the woodwork after that 2nd goal.

it's funny how they were nowhere to be found the first 10-12 minutes of the period when Bernier was single handedly keeping the score 0-0 and 1-0.

Yes, that 2nd goal was bad, but, let's be honest. If Reimer started tonight, it would likely be 6-1 St Louis already.

It would be 6-0. Only reason we got that goal was because of the huge save Bernier made just prior to it.

Phaneuf has great stats, we seem to be much, much more effective with him on the ice than off it, which is remarkable considering how much tougher minutes he plays compared to our other pairings. You'd never think it considering how often you see him screw up like this.

That was a weak goal from Bernier though. The difference is that he's had 3-4 absolutely great saves, and Reimer hasn't delivered any of those in games against much easier opponents.

I'm in the camp that thinks MacIntyre should have started this game though, give Bernier more time to recover. We were never going to win, Blues are just too good.

In fairness the Blues are the best possession team in the league, but 23 shots is ridiculous.

Still though I see this being close, Bernier is playing well so far.

But good lord our defense makes blunders

and our offense cannot cycle a puck.

Definitely in need of more mobile responsible d-men and two-way forwards.

What looked better or more successful that period a big physical cycle possession team or a small rush team?

You can see why Leafs management needs to change the team personnel.

Carlyle should be fired. I can't really see how our team game could get any worse.

Nonis should be fired too! Clarkson DNA evidence and POOR D with no help at the deadline!

The perfect way to put this game:

Canada's Paralympic hockey team (Leafs) vs Canada's hockey team (Blues).

St. Louis Blues...have some respect for the disabled. Instead of going for 70 shots...let's bring that down to 50.

Dion's being a little girl lately. Does he think playing like a wet noodle is better for the team? I'm really getting tired of this BS this year.

Am I a Reimer fanboy?

More Clarkson, less Kessel. It's the only answer.

A lot of posters are just pointing out hypocrisy.

No goalie should be blamed for 4 out of the 5 games Reimer played, neither should Bernier this period.

Exactly, good teams should be able to win a game for their goalies once in a while when they let in goals like that. Leafs are not one of those teams and they require vezina calibre goaltending night in night out to even have a chance to win.

People were so quick to throw Reimer under the bus while giving him and his wife the middle finger and they don't even realize Bernier has those games too.

I'm willing to give Bernier the pass for the one tonight since it seems like he isn't 100% but the scapegoating around here is unreal. Only takes a moments notice for the pitchforks and cussing to come out.

That's uncalled for. Pretty sure most sledge hockey players can skate circles around Clarkson.
