Post-Game Talk: Leafs sweep California

I traveled to California in Jan, 2008 to watch this trip and we got swept. The Leafs didn't look perfect here but I'll take it,

BTW, we all meet at 459 Westwood Drive, Cobourg tomorrow, right?

I agree that I’m not 100% sold until I see a deep run. But relative to other teams around the league, were up there. With Carolina, Washington, maybe Florida but they’re slipping. I’m just enjoying this for what it is now.

Ditto .. but I'm trying to not think ahead in these games. Just enjoying them on a game by game basis and not thinking about when they matter.

teams style looks much more simple, and alot less scattered. Goals are looking more like playoff goals.... if the leafs play just as well on defense and the in the trenches as the opposition their top end skill will give them the advantage on the scoreboard, so far that is what is happening (a much bigger commitment to winning battles and playing defense then in years past).

Simmonds played well, Clifford looked ok too. Kerfoot, Nylander, JT, Bunting, AM we’re all good. Campbell of course. D was mostly pretty good too.

Have to eliminate letting up with the lead. Killer instinct, but they held anyway.

hmm gonna disagree with this, sure they had a good 5 or 6 minutes of that, but then they settled down and continued playing like they had prior. in the past that could have been a game that ended differently.

Great game again... great road trip. This team just keeps chugging along. The effort has consistently been there. Campbell keeps playing great. The overall team D is great. A lot of guys are starting to chip in. Bring on the Avalanche. Go Leafs Go.

No need to apply any more superlatives to the teams results, they've been piling up points.

I will say that the five minute surge the Leafs faced after the Ducks scored is the type of opposition they will face come playoffs. They held the fort thanks to Campbell, but it was a challenge they have to meet.

Campbell is making it look easy out there...why cant it be him and not Mrazek on that new deal.
