Term is too long, but not that expensive.

What need does he fit?

If this is a precursor to trading Kerfoot, it's an excellent signing. Otherwise, we didn't need additional small soft players who don't perform in the playoffs.

Kerfoot - Tavares - Nylander
Engvall - Kampf - Jarnkrok

with the hope that some kids play well enough to bump some of these guys down some notches.

Of course, I wouldn't be shocked if in Dubas' mind Jarnkok is a Kerfoot replacement and that we may trade Kerf now for a cheaper different forward.

I would think Simmonds is going to fill in that 4th line.

I like the signing in a vacuum. He can score and is good defensively, and the Leafs needed that. It just seems like this means Kerfoot is on his way out, and I don't think Jarnkrok is as good

Not necessarily. Kerfoot provides insurance if one of the C's gets injured and is a more than adequate top 9 LW.

Can't help but think Kerfoot & Holl have to be in the plans for moving. Decent players, decent contracts, and Dubas is bringing in guys who can do a lot of the same. Jarnkrok is a 1.4mil savings on Kerfoot and very similar player. Holl has Sandin, Benn, Mete nipping at his heels. Have to think a move is on the way

Not sure i totally understand this signing? What happened to giving some of the younger kids some playing time? They need to develop.

There must be some bodies leaving town soon, ala Kerfoot, Holl.

3 lines with legit scoring threats (1 that is a top 5 line) and one that will be a pain to play against and will shut most teams down.

Still think we need another top 6 LW and somehow a physical RHD.

I agree Kerfoot may be getting shown the door. With what we have right now I see it as:

Versatile player that Pk and can play all positions.

Like I said it was an ok signing not great.

We do need some snarl and size though.

I think Holl is definitely gone. I don't see them moving on from Kerfoot yet as he can fill in in the top 6 either as a center or winger in case of injuries. I could see them look at moving him at the TDL if Robertson proves himself as a legitimate top 6 option.
