So the worst case safe scenario for the forwards, at this point,

Bunting - Matthews -Marner
Kerfoot - Tavares - Nylander
Engvall - Kampf - Jarnkrok
Aube-Kubel -

with the hope that some kids play well enough to bump some of these guys down some notches.

Of course, I wouldn't be shocked if in Dubas' mind Jarnkok is a Kerfoot replacement and that we may trade Kerf now for a cheaper different forward.

i feel they will trade kerfoot and give robertson chance on that line. Might sign ZAR and maybe have kubel-ZAR-anderson/steeves as the fourth line

Holl and Sandin are both gone IMO.

Listening to Dubas on Wednesday, made it sound like the Sandin deal is pretty close to being done.

I'd like to think Holl is gone too, but have a suspicion that because he's one of "their guys", he won't be - remember, they protected him at the Expansion Draft last year.

Nice to finally have a RHS center option on the PK. You know shits dire when liver-spotted Jason Spezza is sent over the boards to win a right-side PK draw.

Not a great signing but like the thought to get a better 3rd line centre to shift Kampf down. Solid two way player. Some didn’t want to admit it but m we really needed another penalty killer with Mikheyev and Kase gone.

And the best part could mean Kerfoot is gone. If we can get a 2nd for Kerfoot, then this signing turns into an A for me. Right now it’s a B-

I like the signing in a vacuum. He can score and is good defensively, and the Leafs needed that. It just seems like this means Kerfoot is on his way out, and I don't think Jarnkrok is as good

If we move out both Kerfoot and Holl...how much caps-space would we have

Don’t like the term but the AAV is good for a player of his calibre.

Should be a trade or two coming to increase the cap space.

I still believe they require some more Kase, NAK types. Which player on the roster will he be replacing? That is the question.

Most likely Kerfoot.

Is this move shifting Kampf to the 4th line or will they just put him on the right side of the 3rd line with Kampf?

Engvall Kampf Jarnkrok shut down like?

Holl and Sandin are both gone IMO.

Just spitballing here, but if we trade Sandin for a prospect like Dylan Hollowell (placeholder name) who could grow in a forward role and has great upside and is cost controlled, it’s not the end of the world. Not saying Hollowell, but recently drafted first round forward with positive development.

Leafs were reportedly interested in him at the deadline, before he went to Calgary - I'm guessing the 4 years + limited NTC implies there was lots of interest.

This may be the move that helps the Leafs replace Mikheyev
