Confirmed with Link: Leafs sign Jarnkrok to a 4 year 2.1M AAV contract

Yeah I think we need a signing like this to not be so thin up front and hopefully Jarnkrok can be put in a backfill position and pad some stats or play a middle six role. 4 years seems a little long but the AAV is ok. 2-3 may have been perfect.

Gear up trades are coming.

Looks like a solid pickup to me. Versatility is nice to have when injuries happen and he puts up a decent amount of points.

Wow didn't see that coming but nice signing. There is your middle 6 add all thoigh better suited on the 3rd line. I prefer someone with a bit more scoring touch, but this works too. A Kerfoot trade has to be coming

He is the new Kerfoot. I feel like this means Kerfoot is going to be traded.
Should be, he is new Kerfoot and takes 1.4 million less cap space and Kerfoots contract should have decent value. Hopefully we can get 2nd rounder like Ottawa got from Brown or player with that same value.

I love this, basically, another great bottom 6 center and I think ideally shifts Kampf to the 4th line.

I think he's a better version of Kerfoot in the utility sense with stronger defensive acumen

Really like the term and cost in general

The money is great. The term is concerning.

I listed him as an option yesterday but I overestimated his offensive ability.

Perhaps the idea is we get a RH center who can play at both ends of the ice, can PK, maybe bring some PP value at least as a guy who takes draws, and then can also fit on a line which will get chances offensively, but will also still be reliable in their own end. Not big or physical, but there are some options. I imagine Kerfoot is moved now, since Jarnkrok is effectively a RH version of him who is a little over 2 years older.

The options were getting thin at center, and short of getting Stastny or Rask, you are getting a similar two-way profile in Steel or Tierney. Jarnkrok is more expensive, but better too.

Kerfoot for picks and Sandin + Holl for a younger more physical RD

This is my thought as well. A cheaper Kerfoot for the third line, and now unload Kerfoot, Holl, and Sandin for a 2nd line winger (or the cap space for one.) Round it out with another cheap 4th liner like the names mentioned in this thread and sign another depth dman. Subban get signed yet?

Agreed, but i'd love a little more nasty on the 3rd.

Good move... feel like this team's an improvement on last year's. I think our goalie situation is better and I actually like the Jarnkrok and the Colorado player... because they add tenacity and willingness to go to dirty areas. Kase was always hurt and Mikheyev was big and fast but not physical and didn't really go to dirty areas.

Not as fast as Kerf but is versatile which is one of Kerf's biggest assets to the team. This is a Kerf replacement. Trade incoming.
