Woll is 25 Samsonov is 26, to call Woll a kid is wrong. Personally I don't think either is the answer. Hildeby may be the answer in a year or 2

Samsonov was fine in Sweden but with five days why didn’t Woll get this game? Two of the goals are because he wasn’t tight against the post and Woll doesn’t do that.

Management thinks Samsonov is a starting goalie. He is what he is. A Backup. He wasn’t a starter before he came to us so we are trying to make him into a number one and he is not in that category.
Before him we tried to make Campbell into a starting goalie and we all know how that turns out.

i dont think right now no one between samsonov/ Woll are ready to run with #1. so alternate and let them fight for the spot

Treliving tells us all the team is going to contend for the cup this year.

Then proceeds to weaken the defense. And doesn't address the goaltending at all. Despite knowing these have been soft spots for years.

If fans think the goaltending is questionable then why doesn't management?

And if Treliving does think the goaltending is suspect why hasn't he done anything about it? Why is the most important position in the sport treated as an afterthought? And why are the Leafs playing a system that requires their questionable goaltenders to stand on their heads every night?

The Leafs are 9th in HDSCA this year.

Maybe it's not the goalies. Maybe it's the system. Maybe allowing Samsonov to be fed more rubber than a box of Chinese made cereal isn't a good idea.

You can't fly like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys.

It'll be a tough call on whether to re-sign him or not.
Team needs a core Goalie and he doesn't look like that guy.

Goaltending has been complete shit this year, mainly Samsonov. Woll started off really hot but has come down to earth as of late. Not sure what you can really do with Samsonov at this point but look to move on. You need to be mentally strong to be a goaltender in Toronto and Samsonov is really struggling with that this year which has been an issue dating back to his Washington days I remember.
