I agree. The Leafs likely miss the playoffs. The goaltending is just embarrassing at this point. I guess that’s what you get for starting an AHL goalie on Saturday night against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Watching other games and one thing I don't see is their goaltenders on the redline on shots from the circle.

The one goal last night, was easily stoppable, except Samsonov wasn't covering any angle, and wasn't against the post. Just a bad goal that every NHLer should stop, every time.

I mean tonight was the first time in awhile that he's allowed less than 3 so It's going to take some time for me to trust him, 1 game isn't going to do it.

Goaltending as a whole has me concerned.

Woll has been pretty good the whole season. That Buffalo game was shit and there were one or two around that game (could have been before and/or after) where he was a bit shaky, but otherwise he's been great, especially considering he's a rookie.

He's also much calmer and more sound than Samsonov which adds trust to his game. The problem was, when he was at .960, that wasn't going to continue, so the numbers were going to drop. And they did. The key was/is to then stabilize. Stabilizing currently at .916 is good, hopefully it stays around that.

Woll has a better save percentage than both Shesterkin and Sorokin. But you carry on.

Kid's played 23 NHL games total, 12 this season, also the better part of 4 playoff games. So far, the kid looks great. Goaltenders are voodoo anyway so saying you trust him to take us to the top would be insane. Even more insane are all those people who were whining about his SV% a couple of games into the season when we're talking about a guy who's major league journey has only just begun.

Kid played great last season, he's off to a good start again so there's plenty of reason to be optimistic. The way he's trending there's a good chance he can do a very good job for us in the playoffs and with many other areas that could use improvement and few tradeable assets, any talk of "addressing the goaltending" is crazy talk IMO.

The kid looks great, let the kid play, the end.
