Leafs need to address the goaltending.

They can send McJesus here where he always wanted to be. That will free up some money. We just need to dump some ourselves to get him in a Leafs jersey. Any more candidates for Robidas Island?

I find the whole 'expected' thing to be pathetically stupid. Reality matters, nothing else.
I’m with you man.
Winners don’t quote all these made up fancy stats they just celebrate. The losing side spends time defending their loss with things like that.
There are 2 sayings in auto racing
1- When the green flag drops the bullshit stops
2- Winners get paid and winners get laid

Reimer 2010-11 and 2012-13 season were the greatest performance I'd ever seen of a Leafs goalie. I can't think of anyone who has come close. Keep in mind, Reimer was not playing on a good team, he willed that team into the playoffs. Was never the same after the Plekanec hit unfortunately for us. But has has a resurgence the last few years.
It might have been a combination of the Plekanec hit plus I think teams had him figured out. Reimer has a weak glove hand and weak five hole. Just like after Murray's first 2 seasons, everyone started shooting high glove on him.

So here's a thought.

I wonder if Murray will be completely 100% ready and healthy when the playoffs roll around.....

Surprise!, lol

If you are going to respond do. it right, respond to the entire post.

I'm sorry, you don't have the authority to dictate, what people choose to respond to, and how.

This whole premise that this team just needs to fix it's goaltending, and other knee jerk reactions that have been posted, is typical of a panic mentality.

This version of the Leafs team, is far from perfect, and could use fixing in a number of areas. We have finite resources to address these areas. Spending this limited currency on goaltending, would be incredibly foolish, when there are other far bigger issues on the team. I'm hoping Treliving is focusing on these areas of need, over areas that will likely prove not be the biggest undoings of a team. Samsonov was good last year, and a few bad games early this year doesn't change that. With patience, his game will come around, and the last few prove that. Woll has generally been excellent at every level, and has shown stretches of that this year. He's had a couple of bad games, but every goalie goes through this. When you have a team that has been poor defensively, is giving up league leading levels of higher danger chances, and is regularly giving subpar efforts, and historically it's core doesn't perform when needed most... you focus on THOSE areas. You don't jump up and down in a panic screaming the sky is falling, when it's clearly showing a complete inability to actually identify the problems of this team. Hildeby is having an amazing campaign down on the Marlies, and it would be great to give him a game or two at some point. If we have a prospect system strength at the moment, it's actually goaltending. To think we should spend our limited currency on the position, is ludicrous at best.

Thank you for the ongoing entertainment.

With what cap space? Edmonton would have to move out money to bring in a guy like Saros.
If Holland is done after this season as GM...I can see him sending a bunch of 1st's to the Preds for Saros and sending them Campbell as well. If the owner and president are stupid enough to let him do it that is...

Nope but I don’t go into any game “expecting“ him to give up goals. That’s a negative attitude
I wish my goalies could get shutouts every single game, but I expect all goalies to give up goals eventually. We use things like expected metrics to get a better picture of what a league average goalie would give up, to better isolate and evaluate their performance.

What do u mean man? Give the kid a chance. Samsonov has been in NHL for a while. He is what he is. Woll is young and just starting. He needs time to build up his confidence.
Woll is 25 Samsonov is 26, to call Woll a kid is wrong. Personally I don't think either is the answer. Hildeby may be the answer in a year or 2
