Leafs need to address the goaltending.

First bold: because he is a really, really good goalie. Much better than the other two.
Second bold: completely agree. I suppose there is an off-chance they resign Jones, but I'm sure he will be looking for something more than a one year deal.

Ultimately, win or lose, I don't see how they would have the cap space to bring Samsonov back at his current salary.

He may very well be really really good but if he can't play, because he's hurt it doesn't matter how good he is.

That's why I don't want a pure backup next season, I want Woll to have to earn the #1 job because so far he's not healthy enough to be the undisputed #1 guy.

It likely won't matter in the end. Woll will be the starter, and the Leafs won't resign Samsonov in the off-season whether they win the Cup or not.
Very likely true but if Sammy takes team on a Cup run (highly unlikely) then team will resign him if CAP works .. he is still in his mid 20s and a 1st round pick ,, folks will understand his health challenges this season .. Sammy's issue is not his hockey skills it is mental health challenges .. I was initially surprised Dubie signed him and decided to take on such a huge challenge .. but he did and our Leafs now have to deal with da consequences .. Dubie clearly was desperate .. but everyone in league knows Sammy's skills are elite, even Caps, but they could not handle da health problems .. I hope nothing but da best for Sammy .. hopefully he has no reoccurrences rest of this season and playoffs

No team is going to give Martin Jones a multi-year contract, that's absurd.

If the Leafs want to re-sign him, they easily could, but they should be aiming much, much higher.

I think you are underestimating the foolishness of many NHL teams.

Worst goaltending in the NHL. This team not win with Samsonov, Jones or Woll.
Agree with you on Samsonov and Jones, the jury is still out on Woll though. They need another goalie in the meantime, otherwise their only hope is to wait until Woll gets healthy, and he miraculously saves their bacon after such a long layoff. That's a huge gamble.

Woll is not it either. This team is in big trouble.
