Watched the Marner interview... about as bad it gets.

We started a whole lot worse last year...pffft...everyone tried to put shambles in our brains. Outside noise....it's big in Toronto especially.

Yea great move Marner, blame the city and your fans.

I'm a passionate player out there... I want to help this team win...I put alot on my shoulders and put alot of pressure on myself.

Yep blame the city and fans and double down on yourself.

I've always liked Sandin. But he keeps making the same mistakes. You expect him to figure it out by now. Or at least not make the same mistakes. It's early in the season, plenty of time to figure it out. If this team wants Keefe as it's coach. They better snap out of it. If they dont. The plot thickens.

Just watched Sheldon's post game presser. He looked and sounded like a guy who knows he just lost his job.

There is no joy, glee or gloating that should go along with this. Dubas will be on notice because there's now another coach sitting at home getting paid, Babcock being the first of course.

If it's Barry Trotz the players should be aware that Dubas will no longer have the power to embarrass a coach by parading him in front of the press and apologize for being a big meanie to those well paid gentle little flowers in the Leafs room. The new coach will have a whip and those players who resist will feel its lash, no more will that room be run by the players. Kyle's progressive mollycodling days are at an end.

They either get it together or get out of town, time to grow up, it's come down to this and they've earned it.

They are off until Wednesday, and then off until Saturday.

I don't think anything happens the next 72 hours.

That’s MM though, he always have excuses, did you remembered what he said after the BJ’s series where he said he did his job…. And was just unlucky….and that he doesn’t need to change his approach….a series where Keefe started Simmonds with AM and Hyman bc Keefe said he needs his team to start on time.

I forgot to mention he tried his patented excuse of "their goalie made alot of big saves" then backed off that statement and said "our goalie made big saves too"....

I know the Leafs will turn it around soon, but I have to admit that I'm glad that I have not renewed my nhl.tv subscription.

Lou did a very similar thing with Komarov - 'overpaid' a player for his impact in the dressing room rather than on the ice. (Yes, Leo was much more successful - too bad Dubas let him walk.)

The biggest difference was that Dubas had to waste a 1st to get rid in Marleau, while getting rid of Leo cost Lou nothing.

Dubas had to give up a pick to move Marleau, a lou signing. Lou was/is a mediocre GM at best. If I'm being brutally honest, Lou is a shit GM who's still riding the coattails and reputation of those 90's Devils teams. Easily the most overrated GM in my mind. He got incredibly lucky with scouting, same as Holland.

I'm not sure what, if anything will happen over the next few days or even weeks, but my humble advice to Shanahan would be to fire Dubas and Keefe immediately and take over as interim GM. Name someone internal to take over Keefe's job also on an interim basis.

Then, literally the moment after Keefe's replacement leaves the office - knowing of course he's the coach until someone is hired and that the process is starting immediately - call Trotz and give him an offer he can't refuse.

As he's previously indicated (last week I believe) he's not quite ready to return behind the bench - late December/January perhaps? That's fine. The job is his when he's ready, but get him to sign on now.
