Well, not the best night for Toronto.

Honestly, we were the better team. We're going to win this series. 100%. We laid an egg the last 6 of the first, had some brain dead plays, but we pushed them harder than they pushed us, we had better looks, goalie just beat us this evening.

We will win this series guys.

Marner was a ghost... game was high tempo should be a game he thrives in but he's still not making plays.

A few bad plays causes us to lose. I still have confidence we can win, really need to clean up the defensive lapses however. Bob played well and got them ahead early.

Florida is not nearly as good as Tampa.

And please for God sake no Holl.

Outplayed them but too many players showed up too late in the game and some egregious mistakes.

Bob outperformed Samsonov handily. Some uncharacteristic defensive gaffs from Brodie and McCabe that swung the game.

Overall not worried but 11-7 might be worth looking at with Florida's fast paced forecheck. Gio looks ancient and Holl will look even worse against this pressure; Gus could draw in.

Not sure which team was the better team tonight but somebody has to win. Hopefully it’s not the story of the entire series.

Shot themselves in the foot tonight after tying it in the second .. Then got shut down by Bob in the third (with some luck).

Nice to see Knies score, he's getting more beastly. Like the physicality.

My concern going into the game was exactly what I saw .. being too aggressive in a north-south open game might cost them as they can get leaky defensively.

Florida has something going on now, tons of momentum and confidence. Game 2 is a must win. I could actually see the Leafs' getting swept if they're not careful. At the same time the Leafs' can clearly outplay Florida, as we saw at stretches in this game. Defensively, they weren't up to par.

Not seeing full 60 min efforts again .. But seeing the Leafs' open it up in the second/third and come back is positive, didn't see that a ton of that vs Tampa

The only dman who should get the greenlight for pinching for offense is Rielly...the Brodie-McCabe were brutal...trying to be heroes when we only needed them to play steady defense.

Move on from Keefe. Dubas put the pieces in place. Keefe doesn't know how to use them properly or just refuses to. We're not good on home ice because he's overthinking the lines. Holl for 5 out 6 games in Round 1. This team would have much better results with a more competent coach.

This isn't a new feeling.

Leafs don't win openers very often. Don't get it but not going to try and figure it out either.

Go win the next one and go from there.

Leafs can win the series but they need to be better defensively and can't be doing stupid pinches.

Also the big boys did basically f*** all tonight and it was a 4-2 game.
