Still fine moving on from the management if this series is a dud. Outplayed almost every game.
What a ridiculous take. We dominated that game for the most part. Bob had a great game. We know he’s not going to sustain this based on his past. They were opportunistic, we couldn’t score on the PP, they scored first, and there’s your game. Next game is crucial though.

I wouldn't mind people being negative, but this same poster has been pushing this narrative about xGF% since the deadline and how we got worse and all that. Just seems like he doesn't care if we win or not, it just has to be his way and has to please his xGF% fetish or something.
.. Counter it with evidence based research of your own. Got to give that poster credit for putting the work in.

Yeah. That poster is doom and gloom.

Not getting one early in the first with our two power plays is what did us in.

We were not capitalizing properly on our chances, shooting wide, bad decisions, etc and being far too cute again.

Cut that shit out, play hard and simple.

Yea, felt like "one of those games" after the first 10, not at all surprised it ended up how it did. You just can't miss so many good chances early in a game and give your opponent all that confidence. If they are up by 1 or 2 after 10, suddenly Florida is chasing the game and it's a very different game.

If I'm Keefe one of my points of emphasis for game 2 is win the first period, not just by goals but also by play .. we haven't seen that Leafs' team much in the playoffs that takes the game from the start and makes the opponent play from behind

They were very good when scoring first in the regular season.

We did crush Tkachuk a few times tonight. That should pay some dividends later on.

Yep and Florida is now 5-0 when scoring first in the playoffs this season.

Have to make them chase the game.

Samsonov needs to be better. This was his worst game since Game 1 against Tampa.

Felt like every other time Florida got a decent chance, it was in the net. Meanwhile the Leafs needed 10 Grade A chances to score.
It's true. Leafs didn't score enough though. I would say that was the reason they lost. But Samsanov was 2nd best here. Even as I say that I think back to how many big save Samsonov made..

Leafs on the whole just weren't good enough. They were good, but not good enough.

He did in the third, it wasnt a great showing. The fourth line barely played in the third. He also switched up some pairings down the stretch.
here is Tkachuk's 5 on 5 mins against Leafs players explain to me how the hell do 4th line players get so much ice time against tkachuck line at home with a last change. That is absolute stupidity. Whats the point of home ice and last change if you are not going to take advantage of it.

Now see how Keefe iced our 4th line players and against whom for their most mins (remember we have home ice and last change)

There are other numbers that one can post and then disect how STUPID Keefe was. I don't have any personal grudge against Keefe I don't even know the guy. If Leafs were winning or he coached a solid game and it was just bad bounces nobody would blame him (or at least I wouldn't). Keefe was absolutely terrible tonight

Need to clean it up defensively and need more from the big guns.

Thought Nylander gave a putrid effort. Marner wasnt much of a factor. Same for JT and O'Reilly.

ok here's some evidence. Toronto beats Tampa Bay finally 4-2 and advances to round 2. Boston loses to last seed Florida 4-3 and eliminated round 1. Good enough evidence or should the winners of expected goals for stats and deserve to win meter move on in series and screw actual goals scored. That could really change the game so maybe the NHL should experiment with that one season.

Your question is how did our 4th line play vs. Tkachuk's line, when MT had 3 points, none against that line and Keefe trust them in defensive situations.

Maybe youre asking the wrong question here

There's a stat called xGF? Lmao
Funny story about that stat……To paraphrase….The cronies were trying to sell xGF% to the OverDrive crew when ODog asked Seigel who leads the Leafs in expected goals for……they answered, Pierre Engvall.…..naturally O’Dog‘s reaction was hilarious.

Was Paul Maurice flashing gang signs at the end of the game? That guy always brings an element of Inside the Actors Studio to a hockey game.
