He has some great ingredients but definitely gets carried away with the physical stuff at times as well as kind of wander into the offensive side of things.
His awareness on that backbreaking Panthers goal was juvenile. There were clearly all three forwards up in the rush and he didn’t even provide an option for a pass. He was just jumping up for the hell of it.

Leafs d need accountability.

This is the last post I am gong to post on this subject because life is short and I really and absolutely detest people claiming to be einstein without understanding the math.

Google: Anscombe's quartet; then look at the equation for xGF doesn't matter who is calculating. If you still think that is meaningful i.e. "expected" bullshit versus actual event taking place then you can be happy in your world and stop bugging me.

Pot, meet kettle.

Maurice posturing with the officials:

Wouldn't cry about it when they drew a penalty with 7 mins left in the game after the refs had let some stuff go in the period, which ended up causing the dagger.

Worth noting that would have cut the penalties to 3-2, and fairly even .. the high stick was pretty clear cut and also quite late in the game.

Beastlander had a wonderful game. He will finish the series with multiple multi-point games for sure. The GF wasn't there to match the xGF for him tonight.
Not fully true. His agility to get lost (even though he didn't take puck to net) can be looked as one long series finally ending in Bunting's goal.

It was a good hockey game. Leafs played best 5 on 5 we have seen in a while vs a playoff calibre team. Got goalied. It happens.

Panthers have a high energy system. All their guys are willing to be puck hounds and have noses dirty.
Marner and Willy you can see right away, after 10,15,20 of these battles, start being weary of this type of play and they become worn down. Marner was a non factor.

Keefe has to adjust. Find a way through systems and play or you will lose as time goes on. Dubas’ first few years of wanting soft skill fast players is still haunting us to this day.

Next game boys.

so you basically want people to praise the coach whatever the outcome eh?
I thought he was a non factor in the outcome actually. I would have made some different choices, may have worked, may have caused more issues. Hes well down the list of people or things to praise or "fix" from tonight.

Dont think so much on absolutes, most things are on a scale

Didn't feel like a playoff game. You get 2 pps within the first 6 minutes you better score. Lots of sloppy plays, overpassing, not going to the net, multiple defensive gaffs, bad rebounds all night, etc. Definitely blew this one.

Agreed!

Attention to detail in a playoffs is a MUST! and it starts with the coach

I expect that type of play from Kerfoot not Willy.
Do you really think Nylander knew no one was there?

Zero chance he doesn't take that to the net.

I just can't figure out what the actuall hell he was looking at. Terrible brain cramp or absolute zero feel on that play

Samsonov needs to be better. This was his worst game since Game 1 against Tampa.

Felt like every other time Florida got a decent chance, it was in the net. Meanwhile the Leafs needed 10 Grade A chances to score.

I think he is the primary reason. You gotta play your hot hand or your top players. giving mins to kampf and kerfoot while you are down a goal and stickng to the d-pairing that is struggling besides the other points I raised is absolutely on the coach.

Only me and like 5 others said Leafs in 4. So 99% of this place expects any where between 1-3 losses. There really is nothing to see here. Onto the next one.

He did in the third, it wasnt a great showing. The fourth line barely played in the third. He also switched up some pairings down the stretch.

Again, not perfect but well down the list for me. Those top players didnt miss their chances because they werent on enough. That fourth line didnt hurt us in their matchups, some others did. He adapted to the Panthers pressure and we looked better as a result on it
