Keefe gifting Tampa a 5on3 down by only 3 and waving the white flag with over a full period to go was so pathetic. How can we expect the players to maintain composure and make smart decisions when the coach can't either. At least Bunting's moronic decision with a split second thing during the game, Keefe actually had a few minutes to think about what he was going to do.

I thought it was the right call to make.
It should be followed up with an absolute lambasting of the league as well.

Not only is there no conclusive proof that the puck fully crossed the line, the puck was frozen against the post and the only reason it even went into the net was because the left pad was pushed into the net.

That is, in my opinion, textbook goalie interference.

If the team loses by 4, 7, 25 goals, it makes no difference and if you can keep the game at 2 goal disadvantage, then so be it.

Did you see some of those calls though? That shove from Schenn? They call that a crosscheck when actual crosschecks happen all the time infront of the net and don't get called. That's literally his only purpose on this team, clearing the crease and he can't even do that in the most harmless fashion without one of their players jerking his body forward and getting rewarded for it. It would be nice for them to empty their tanks though I can agree with that.

You know what I think partially did the Leafs in? They no showed to start the game and were embarrassing themselves. But then they scored 2x on the powerplay to make it close and the refs played the even up game as to not appear aligned with a Leaf comeback. Lest be accused of showing bias. So they went hard to undo everything that made it 3-2.

Basically the Leafs crapped the bed but the refs came out with an agenda to deny them the undeserved come back.

At least I got to meet with Ray Ferraro, Chris Johnston, Bryan Hayes and Joe Bowen tonight.

They were all super nice and friendly, especially Joe. What a nice guy. Hearing that laugh in person was such a cool moment.

Brian Burke was also in the building but I got to be honest I was afraid to introduce myself to him lol.

Look at the tape, it wasn't a slash, if it hit the hands it glanced them at best. Leafs got 2 minutes for scoring.
You're right, it was not a slash.

It was a stick check from behind.

You can't get a stick checking from behind penalty (disguised as a "slashing" call) if you're in front of the player and in good defensive position.

That's my entire point.

Tampa commits a ton of infractions, but they're generally not due to lack of effort or caused by being in poor positions via gliding on the ice. The players are always moving their legs on the other side.

Gotta put Sammy back in imo. If Woll falters in game 2 you've basically shattered both of their confidence.
You have a very valid point, but the concern is that Samsonov looked absolutely terrible tonight. Like bad bad!

I am not sure where this team goes from here. A back breaking humiliating loss like this on home ice in the first game of the playoffs is enough to end the season. I guess we will find out.

Theres a tampa player holding our D at the red line causing this. He's standing still, committing an infraction, which causes the defensive chaos

Honestly I didn't think he was even terrible, the first 3-4 goals the team did him no favours. The 5th and 6th left a bad taste but by that point the game was over thanks to Bunting.

I wholeheartedly agree with this.

All the hooplah about Bunting diving and shit, this is the exact type of shit he was doing early this year that gave him the Devil's mark by the refs.
So many people all over the league crying foul about Bunting are now completely ignoring Perry and whoever that was and their heads snapping back.

Still, you know the officials don't like you.
That's been proven time and time again over the years.
I won't say there's a conspiracy or whatever, but the numbers don't f***ing lie.

So, stop giving the shitty zebras excuses to penalize you.

He wasnt very good. Over committed on the first 2, second was a bad rebound ontop of it. In position for goal 3 and misses it, then doesnt hold his post for goal 5. 6 was outrigh weak, then i stopped watching.

Not a game you expect a shutout in, and youll get beat on some, but you need to come out of the second period at 4-2 or better with those type of chances against.

They can go to Woll but really it's the defence that is the problem. Again. Just too soft and allow too much to happen. Guys like Brodie just get backed off.

They got a couple guys with jam but overall not big and strong and don't box out.
