The team no matter the changes throughout the organization has not learned to fight through a game. When there's any kind of solid resistance the team folds unless they get a 5 on 3 to get them back in it.

This team is absolutely not the 2013 Chicago Blackhawks just with poor goaltending. They need to get their game a lot tighter or it’s going to get ugly. This northern division will not be easy whatsoever.

Some fans are clueless. Okey I admit that it's easier to blame a goalie than your golden boys, which media have crowned kings of the city, but blame him when he gives up soft goals. These goals tonight were bad defensive breakdowns which will never happen for teams like Islanders. It's structure and commitment to play defense. These guys just don't have it.

40 mil for 4 forwards and two of them can't even find a corner. The problem is GM who gave keys of the asylum for these entitled brat boys. Media is part of the problem too. Dubas had massive propaganda campaign behind his back. And leading that charge was his BFF James Mirtle.

Reilly/Brodie will be a solid pair, but Reilly will have to accept a more physical role IMO. My word has always been balance, they will hopefully find it this year. Players are waiting in the wings when needed.
We've been waiting 8 years now for Rielly to take on "a more physical role". He's a 220lbs softie, it's just how he's always been.

Thornton Spezza Siimmonds. Yikes.

Im assuming youre talking about the lack of footspeed. For forwards, I much prefer all of them to be together than to have them all on different lines where they cant keep up with the other two.

You dont have to have a fast forward on a line to be a good line as long as you play smart ans dont over commit.

I don't get the Vesey hate though, thought he's been effective.

I think Barabanov and one of Thornton or Spezza have to come out of the line-up

I'd get Robertson and Joey Anderson in the line-up. Maybe Lehtonen for Bogo.

the second unit has been better than the first unit. They scored 4 times already.

Definitely. But that 1st unit would be better if they had Nylander and JT giving the unit more skill. Currently it's just a triangle up top but having JT and Simmonds just aren't skilled enough to make mismatches. So many times Joe and especially Simmonds had the puck die on their sticks because they're just not as skilled.

Personally, I don't believe in diluting the 1st unit for the sake of the 2nd. Keefe should have his top guys playing 75% of the 2 minutes, if they are rested.

...Nylander......JT.............

Marner.........................Matthews...
....................Rielly.................

Let the rest have the remaining seconds.

Thornton is suppose to change that.

I really thought after seeing McDavid's hat trick yesterday that he'd at least have a couple against the Sens tonight.. damn.

You'd think the team that just released The Blueprint episode where Keefe is giving a Stanley Cup PowerPoint is going to be well run. But then you get two bench minors in two games, completely random line combinations and arbitrary utilization. Also, Tavares is actually playing well. Why is he not getting ice time?

Also, the fact that the team is only at 100% intensity when down 5-3 with an EN has to be on the coach. What are you doing if not managing energy levels prior to games if it's been an issue highlighted by the organization in offseason talking points?

Like my father said, Freddy is consistent at being inconsistent. You never know what Freddy you are getting game in or game out. I would honestly rather have a goaltender that is consistently average than a goaltender who ranges from elite to garbage at any given moment.

All 3 are past their best before dates. No way they can compete with the Isles 4th line and with our soft D, they probably never get out of our end.
