Yesterday's game showed the same problem as previous years.
The leafs were the more skilled team and completely controlled the first half (almost half) of the game. But once things started to not go their way, they completely fell apart. The team completely gets deflated when faced with adversity. When it becomes clear that it's not going to be easy.
And that's what we saw yesterday. The leafs fell behind after some (arguably) weak goals, and then just mailed it in. No hustle. No effort. No compete. Four shots in the third period.
The argument of "it's only been 2 games" doesn't apply when we're seeing the precise problems that have followed this core around for years and years.
