I cannot stand Marner and his contract. He should have been dealt for a defenseman or 2 good forwards long, long ago.
Imagine if a team offer sheeted Mitch for 10.5+ and we get 4 first round picks in return for him!

For the money he's making, probabaly 100s, if you don't like it you can't ignore them.
So called superstar doesn't show up when games matter doesn't seem to concern you. You remember Columbus? everyone else does
He has good games, but superstar games for the price he has been paid. Did you see the 4th or 5th goal Ottawa scored? The one Button pointed out, how non challant he was? how casual from their end? he has his moments then he disappears. It's almost like you get a superstar game from him or nothing
Take a look at Mackinnon what he does year in year out and in important games. Also a friendly reminder, he gets paid less that Matthews. Connor McDavid gets paid less than Matthews. Let that sink in. All he does is win Heart, MVP and scoring title
the sky is falling!!!!! Leafs didnt go 82-0, pathetic. They lost to a professional hockey team?
Macks first good year was the age AM is now.
His team before that scuked. He didn't have the support Matthews had. it's not the same
Right, but his support is considerably better than Matthews now, and that’s when he started winning all those awards and titles.
mom not saying Matthews is or will be as good as Mack, but every player outside of Drai and McDavid will come out of that comparison looking bad. Mack is a special player.
All four forward lines have at least one new player, 2 of the 3 D pairs have never played together. Freddy off to his typical slow start. It will take time for Brodie to get used to a new team, system, partner and opponents he has only faced a couple of times per year.
They'll be fine. Patience is a tough sell, I know, but they'll get it together.
He's a special player sure. Everyone knows that. But what makes him special? It's his willingness. He gives a Danm
If I were the leafs I'd be telling Matthews, Marner, and Reilly to go train with Crosby and Mackinnon in the offseason. Look what it did for Mack.He gives a damn, but he also has elite vision, skating, shot, handles, etc.
Some thought he was on Crosby’s level back in the day. He gives a damn, but what sets him apart is his incredible skill set too. I don’t know if AM has that kind of potential. Not sure anyone does right now.
Matthews trained with McDavid this offseason lol. Also I'm not really sure it has any sort of impact on anything, at least to the level you think it does.If I were the leafs I'd be telling Matthews, Marner, and Reilly to go train with Crosby and Mackinnon in the offseason. Yea, not worth it. A bunch of non sense word salad from them. That poster offers nothing but hot takes.
I've been quite critical of this team and pretty much gave up on them after the Columbus series but there's been no training camp and there's a bunch of new players vying for ice time, plus this is the first time Keefe will have them from the start of the season.
I think they will be okay, my concern is more so Andersen, who I don't really have faith in anymore.
Well to be honest I have no idea how much or little it would help them. I'm just grasping at straws for a way to figure out how to get our core involved consistently every game.Matthews trained with McDavid this offseason lol. Also I'm not really sure it has any sort of impact on anything, at least to the level you think it does.
The team as a whole looks shockingly slow.Unfortunately Joe Thornton is cooked. 2 games, I know, but not unfair to say given his age.
I think a muzzing brodie pair would work very well. The problem is and always has been who do we pair with Reilly to help him on the defensive side of the game. Our d core with a high-end shutdown number 2d slots everyone in properly.Thornton looks like I figured he would be, ineffective. He should not be in a top six role. At least they had it right with Spezza and kept him in a bottom six role.
Not impressed with the Leafs through the first two games. Trying to play with skill instead of hitting and playing with passion.
Four shots in the third period down a few goals isn't showing any drive or will.
I've liked Tavares through the first two games. Matthews has looked decent despite not scoring any yet. Marner looks lost, Nylander was good in the first game, but not so much last night.
Not a fan of TJ Brodie, wasn't a fan of his in Calgary either. I don't think he has what it takes.
Imagine that!Imagine if a team offer sheeted Mitch for 10.5+ and we get 4 first round picks in return for him!
Victors deserve the spoils- did anyone congratulate them on winning the Stanley Cup in game one?Well the Sens fans sure are celebrating on the main bord. I forgot how this place gets after a Leafs loss.
I made this joke tongue-in-cheek vs the Habs but it's pretty concerning that this team has no balls. That's why Thornton and Simmonds were brought in. We have $20+ million tied up in Marner and Matthews. Those guys should both be on a 100 point pace for that money and show up every night. I especially have little sympathy for Marner, he sat out like a diva asking for unreasonable money and Dubas caved. For what hes paid, he should be noticable.the sky is falling!!!!! Leafs didnt go 82-0, pathetic. They lost to a professional hockey team?
The whole you guys are overreacting schtick is getting old. Its been 5 years with little to no improvement. I love the leafs and our players but time is running out for this core.
