I honestly don’t think there’s any kind of trades Dubas can do that will get us very far in the playoffs. The way Dumbass built this team has been flawed from the start. Not enough money left to build a proper supporting cast due to this “core 4”. And the way Bettman, who I really, really hate, has structured the playoffs (if the playoffs started now, the top 4 teams are all in the East), you have to have quality depth at both the forward and defensive positions. There’s just not enough money for this to happen.

I keep hearing that we got beat by a world class team, a very very good team and this is true but why are we not a world class team. Shanny and Dubas have had long enough to build this. We have 3 of the highest paid forwards in the league that took the majority of the money and either there is no money left for good players at the other critical positions or Dubas has no idea how to get quality for cheap.
Our goalies are reclamation projects off the scrap heap and if Reilly is our number 1 D man we are in serious trouble

That Marchant video is so telling. An entire room full of journalists explodes in laughter when he suggests the only leaf player that chirps back is Marner, but he's talking about video games, his dog, and his pink skates.
That's this cores reputation. And not by fans, but by players. The team is a soft spoiled joke.

Other than the issues articulated such as poor defense and an off night for Sammy, I would say the far more interesting thing is the lack of psychological health of some of the members here. Hot take divas should take some time and get better.

Boston is really good, but in the grand scheme, they’re irrelevant to the Leafs. If they meet in the playoffs it means the Leafs had a successful season.
Like coaching. 5 forwards on power play, or 4 plus Reilly is same as 5 forwards is wrong. It costs us frequently. Bruins pen kill is too strong for MM on point with Reilly.
It's attitudes like yours our players have....thats why the team is going no where. I wish they were triggered and actually showed positive results on the ice...where it really matters.

Dude...I've been watching the Leafs since the Imlach days...those teams even with all their warts would demolish todays team. Why? They had a team spirit they hated losing, they had drive, heart, grit...fearless. They playes as a 'team'...we have an assortment of talented players that run and hide when the going gets tough and the remainder are all place holders. I would gladly take the Clarke/Gilmour team of the 90's over this one. Such talent....going no where. I've seen this movie over and over...

It's my fault. I noticed after the 2nd period, during the intermission, my Leafs Bic lighter died. Ran out of gas. I knew it was a bad omen.
The teams that win are like that....look at Boston...always near or at the top. They get it...you don't..
