I'm not going to blame every single goal solely on Andersen, but at some point your goalie needs to make a few clutch saves for you and Freddie more games than not isn't doing that.

Markstrom let in 3 goals, but when the Flames needed it the most he made a few very nice saves down the stretch to preserve the lead and help get his team the win. Andersen is rarely if ever able to do that for the Leafs and its why we need to move on from him ASAP. I know Dubas won't do it, but I wish we could trade him before the deadline for anything we could get for him.
It sucks that his value was once more but if you can dump his 5m cap hit somewhere and pay some assets to get a good goalie at a cheaper rate, that's such a win for them. Makes it easier in acquiring skater(s) as well with more cap. I'd be completely fine with running Campbell-Hutchinson for 2 weeks given the circumstances & options. If there's a slight chance Fred moves it's between the end of tomorrow's game and the next one. 4 days break without games during the quarantine helps the situation, Woll is the 4th string right now... for a playoff push the Leafs do not want Andersen at 5m on the cap, that's a bad rental for them, I'm past him being any kind of asset. Kyle says he's open to improving his team in anyway at every position possible and he better act on that & he better act on that otherwise it's a bunch of b***shit. Holding on to Fred is just high risk low reward.

Galchenyuk looked great imo.

Thats whats up!

Habs fan here, I just want him to win man
He was my favorite player and I believe he has more left in his tank, his injury is what derailed his promising career start tbh

I just want him to shut up every one who talks shit about him, he has it in him im sure

I'll be rooting for the Leafs by proxy I guess!!!

More shots by Keefe. I love it. Keep it coming coach.

For real. It's been a long time since I've seen a goalie both a) suck so much and b) look so lackadaisical like they don't give a single f*** while letting puck after puck passed them.

The fact that he has the audacity to say "same goes for our team" like they didn't dominate the game. We gave up less than 20 shots and this guy out here talking about "same goes for our team". It's you Fred, you're the problem.

Andersen saps them of energy and confidence.

Poor Freddy, I'm not gonna burn him at the stake like most on here but Keefe needs to make the tandem official. A little competitiveness between the two could help Freddy, I don't think it will make any difference for JC.

Freddy could still have a lot to offer with less starts and more fire under his ass.

Unless Dubas can pull a rabbit out of his ass and find a legit replacement, I would keep him and use him as backup if he still can't produce as a duo. I wanna see Freddy relatively rested for a playoff series before I completely turn on him.
Competitiveness? He couldn't take the pressure.
He's had 4 days off. He will be off a minimum of another 5 days now. plus he was off on his injury for a few games as well. Has he played 20 games all year? Rest shouldn't be an issue.

Man has lost it... Both the script and his game.

You've lost your game man. You just flat out suck and you probably lost your job now. Work to earn it back, just like Holtby did in 2018 when he later led his team to a Cup win. That is what Keefe should be telling him when he eventually gets benched (which should be effective immediately assuming Campbell is fully healthy now).

Sometimes you have to win a game you are not supposed to. Seems to happen to us a LOT. When do we do it? Have we done it this season? I cannot remember one.

Flying around getting chances, and looking good is not what it takes. Its finding a way to win, at all costs, even when your goalie is shit.

They played hard tonight in general, but good efforts count for shit in the pros if you cannot get a win here and there.
So are you happy with no chances for?
Oh please. No team wins with awful goaltending. Nobody. Stop directing the blame to somebody else. This is all goaltending.

Likely the best line mates he's ever had (not trying to offend)

Playing with Tavares and Nylander if the 3 click together could be very dangerous.

Andersen has always had his head up his own ass. I cannot remember a single loss he has taken the blame for in all his time here, and there have been MANY opportunities for him to shoulder some blame.

To play devil's advocate a bit re:Andersen... he's not this bad.

An .856SV%, which this team has gotten over the last seven games, is a gross outlier. Even Jimmy Horward on last year's pitiful Red Wings had a SV% of .882. In other words, literally every bad bounce and deflection, that in normal times would hit even the worst goalies, is going in at the moment.

Combine that with the fact that our scoring has slumped at the same time (IIRC, before tonight, we were shooting 5.5%) and its obvious why we're in such a rut.

The scorers will bounce back. Andersen will bounce back to... well, something. This team will start winning games again, which by virtue of its offensive prowess, it can do with even below average goaltending. But we definitely need an upgrade if we're going to make a cup run. He's got a .906SV% over the last two years (74GP), which is pretty much NHL backup #'s.

I won't agree that it is ALL goaltending, but I am not denying it is the major issue right now.

I want to see more out of some players though. Maybe Jack gives them a boost tomorrow?

It's simple. Get another capable goalie or sell at the deadline.

Whatever top 6 F / 3C we may have been looking to acquire ....that shipped sailed tonight. Bon voyage.
Smoke and mirrors, I think Dubas was never looking for a forward.

Team gives up way too many easy chances against imo. I guess we are scoring, but maybe Fred needs the skaters to get him a win to get things going? He owes them no doubt, but if they are not in it together they have no chance... and I am sure they are. Two deflected in off us... which makes me think that Andersen's positioning is off a bit... lately it seems every deflection goes in, which says to me he is not in the right spot... some of them going in, sure, but its really been ALL of them over the past 7 games it seems.

At the same time though, when Rielly and Marner play like that we won't win many games regardless. Amazing to me the gap between their very good and very bad games.

Marner looked like he thought he was the guy who was going to single-handedly carry the team to the win... no need, use what you have around you man. He must have looked off Matthews 5-6 times tonight. Crazy. Sweet shot on the goal though.
If a team can’t win by scoring three goals a game and consistently out chancing their opponent there’s only one play to look.
