The 3rd goal was bad. The 4th was a 2 on z1 but a shot from the corner ffs

I actually felt very comfortable the Leafs would find a way to tie it even when the Isles booted it out with 25 seconds left and Nylander had to go retrieve.

Felt pretty good about it but got then notification the Leafs lost the game 4-3 in OT.

Leafs always leaving a bit of a sour taste.

This, 100%. It was a 2 on 1, Matthews took the shot and it was saved. Happens all the time. 2 on 1 the other way with Barzal and Horvat and Barzal had one of his best ganes of the year. It happens.

I don’t even care about the loss, JT gets 1000 against his old team and in April when the Islanders are kicking and screaming for a wildcard spot and the Leafs are 2nd in their division that’s all people will remember.

Ya, you're right. Gimme a Matthews shot from the dash marks all day long. Marner was definitely covered extremely well so definitely the right choice, just didn't drop for us tn.

I don't recall they emptied the bench when Sundin scores his 1000th against Edmonton either. But nowadays all teams do it.

Happiest to see JT get point 1000 in the perfect game, and the perfect moment.

The game ending stunk but it was a classic trade chance for chance thing that 3 on 3 is. Matthews missed, Horvat didn't. Not faulting Sammy on that winner too much, that shot was perfection. Short side under the bar.

At the end of the day the Leafs' can't keep relying on getting 2 points in 3 on 3 or in the shootout .. that masks the underlying issues of the team that would get exposed eventually. I'd rather that happen now then in the stretch run.

This team is just so mediocre this year.
