Leafs blew their load this year with these past two games.

The last 5 times a team who swept met a team who went 7, the team that went 7 won.

this team will continue to meddle in mediocrity until the cap goes up like crazy (which will not happen anytieme soon) or by the time cap goes up if dubas is still here he will bendover backwards and handout another ridiculous contracts to matthews/marner. rinse and repeat.

cannot wait till dubas is gone and a "Real GM" comes in and tells people: if you are not going to perform you are out. You are getting paid handsomely and you are disrespecting the logo in the front by not putting in any effort.

Another thing: How come Carey Price gets whistles without even having to cover the puck, but Montreal gets to dig and dig and dig at Jack Campbell's pads trying to pull the puck out with the ref standing there like a dumbass?

Campbell got a couple quick whistles too... and when that happens, the refs tend to let the play go one for an extra second or 2 just to be sure.

The officials had ZERO impact on this result. This is 100% on the players.

The fact that the team was up 3-1 and failed to get it done twice in a row is just the typical Leaf mentality. Lack of killer instinct and led by players who play like ass for the majority of the game.

Im not holding out hope anymore. If they win I will be absolutely blown away, but for me, the script has been written the same way for too many years.

Yeah I don't think they are winning. In my mind this series is already lost so if they can somehow flip the script, I'll be glad.

But when they needed him most where was he? Making 13 consecutive saves in OT. Campbell also let in flukey goals in the game, both goalies were at a wash going into overtime, then 1 goalie showed superstardom and the other let in a back breaker

That's the difference between goalies like Price and Anderson or Campbell. You'll never lose a big game due to him flubbing one.

They’re not a small team. Our core just plays soft. Tavares Matthews Marner Nylander are largely soft players. Matthews tbf has been laying the body all series as has Nylander though he coasted out there tonight for 2.5 periods. Everyone needs to buy in. Nylander lays his first big hit of the night and what happens? A goal. Team just plays soft because I’m guessing management is more interested in pushing university taught political agendas than playing tough hockey

This team lacks the killer instinct. I mean game 5 they came out flat and let the Canadiens get the lead and they did the exact same thing in this game. The coach isn't doing a good enough job having this team ready and fired up from the get go. If this team gets eliminated then I think a major change has to occur to this core. Matthews no points in this series and Marner that was a very stupid, stupid mistake lifted the puck out of the ice. Good players simply don't do that. Plus they need a kick ass coach like Sutter who demands a lot from his players and holds them accountable.
