through nothing but their own stupidity and completely unnecessary errors, it's now just coming down to 1 game to keep their season alive. if they get screwed by refs, or if Campbell is off, or if Price stands on his head they are done. They should have already won and had a clear path to the final 4, but they completely blew it

Wouldn't be the Leafs if they didn't take the path with most resistance.

I knew when we lost Game 5 in the fashion we did that it's going to Game 6 and I am pretty sure I know how Game 7 is going to end but I'll hope for the best.

If we lose, as long as I have seen the last of Marner in a Leafs jersey, I'll be happy. Time to move on.

I'm not a big Eichel fan but that would be an awesome trade. Who knows what kind of boost getting out of Buffalo might give him and worst case we probably still win the trade.

Wow. The teams that we have suffered through and you think Dubas needs to "purge the core," hfLeafs is a crazy place. There's clearly alot of work to do and I'm not opposed to considering major changes but purging the core isn't an option unless you're suggesting a rebuild in which case get ready to hate young players in 2024 I guess? Some are going to blame Dermott for this loss. They're wrong to do so. That one mistake aside, he played well despite being thrust into a top 4 role with Muzzin going down. Ditto for Campbell, who was the only reason we were not down 3-0 after 2.

The real problem is that it came down to Dermott making one mistake. The problem is that the entire forward core, minus a few exceptions (Spezza among them), decided they didn't want to try for the first 60 minutes. The problem is that Mitch Marner has no goals in 18 playoff games. The problem is that the Rocket Richard winner Auston Matthews has 1 goal in 6GP this series. And not only are they not scoring, but they are costing the team with their play, including with Marner's careless delay of game penalty tonight.

Even if we win on Monday, this team has only prolonged the questions around it. If we lose Game 7, well, major changes need to follow.

I thought it wasn't even an error on Dermott. More bad luck than anything as it rolled off his stick coming off his turn. Bad luck from my point of view.

Yes, if you can get Eichel for Marner, you pull the trigger 10 times out of 10.

Price looked absolutely dialed in that OT. And has most of the series. It's a very nervous time to be a Leaf fan right now.

They're slower than they were, the experience hasn't helped, they get a goaltender that stands on their head, and they get outplayed still. Just a fully deserved lost, I hate this team so much. You finish ~20 points ahead in a shortened season and still get outplayed by that team? Man there's no analysis I wanna do after this one there's nothing to analyze it's just a bunch of crap.
