This is actually a fair question. Thinking of big injuries this year I think a lot of it was really, really bad luck.

McAvoy's heart condition
Backes colon
Bergeron broken foot
Marchand case of the stupids
Carlo broken ankle ( this one makes me so sad)
McAvoy PCL
Nash UBI (never explained what happened)

etc, etc....

Basically you can't hold a guy that played a full season to the same standard as a guy that misses 20 games especially when that guy finishes above a ppg, unless you truly believe he'd stop scoring anyway and still have no hit 70 points which to me is not realistic.

I think all 3 need to be held to different standards because Nylander production was also affected by Matthews missing 20 games

I know right? we also know that a thread is made pointing out the leafs have ten 40 point scorers, and jets fans whinge endlessly in it.

and some jets fans wonder where they get their bad rep and inferiority complex (beyond the city they live in).

it's actually quite the opposite. if a leaf fan points out anything positive they get bombarded with idiots claiming it's meaningless and their team is better. this thread is a perfect example (as are you).

there are people that have literally devoted tgeir entire morning to trying to downplay having ten 40 point scorers. doesn't that strike you as sad and pathetic? if you think it's so meaningless why bother spending the time discussing it?

all these posters are doing is showing how sad they are.
