According to Friedman, Leafs might go after Michael Leighton or Dan Cloutier
I didn't say any of that. If I had, you would have quoted me directly. It reads like something the usual whiners would sayLeaf Fans: Damn, our goalie coach sucks. Why don't we fire him and get someone better?
Leafs: We're firing the goalie coach.
Leaf Fans: MANAGEMENT JUST LOOKING FOR A SCAPEGOAT! He was doing a great job!
Which people? Isn't he still with the team until June 30th?What is wrong with you people? A man lost his job and you are taking enjoyment out of that. Briere needed to go but cheering because a man lost his job.... FFS ... some people are idiots. It's bad karma to take enjoyment in another mans discomfort.
Sorry if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure I remember reading one of your posts that you trained with Briere in Winnipeg? This is what I want to see is getting someone like Leighton who isn't far removed from the game. Someone who has played the modern style and actually played pro. Part of being a goalie coach isn't just working on fundamentals but someone who can talk you through the ups and downs of the NHL grind.
Would be even nicer to get someone with a little more pedigree like a Sean Burke.
Not me. Might have been @makbeer ?Sorry if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure I remember reading one of your posts that you trained with Briere in Winnipeg?
Sorry dude, I might be completely wrong and no one’s ever posted that. Also a good change I completely misread the post. Not me. Might have been @makbeer ?
No worries mateSorry dude, I might be completely and no one’s ever posted that. Also a good change I completely misread the post.
manon rheaume??I wonder when the replacement will get her job announced?
That's because I was being sarcastic, because it's very similar to what posters ARE doing around here. Most of the same ones claiming that this is a scapegoat firing were calling for Briere to be fired when Campbell and Mrazek were stinking up the joint in February...I didn't say any of that. If I had, you would have quoted me directly. It reads like something the usual whiners would say
He owns a successful business and is a multi-millionaire. I think he's fine. What is wrong with you people? A man lost his job and you are taking enjoyment out of that. Briere needed to go but cheering because a man lost his job.... FFS ... some people are idiots. It's bad karma to take enjoyment in another mans discomfort.
How the f*** did he do that?To be fair he did turn Jack Campbell from a throw in , to the starting goalie. I don't think Jack did that all on his own.
Never forget.
Impressed, didn't think Dubas had the stones to fire anyone. The Babcock firing was more about social issues than competence.
Is it now?just watch them sell Mrazek being on the team next year cause they know what we and the league knows. it’s going to cost them significantly for Mrazek to not be on the roster next year and i think they know by now they can’t afford Campbell.
Defence & goalies, hits & grits, “experienced” executives & staff.I never have any idea what you are talking about
Not me! I’ve been on the ice with the leafs old goalie coach Steve McKichan a few times up in Strathroy and am a fan of his work. But that’s the only coach who has touched the show I have been in contact with. Not me. Might have been @makbeer ?
Firing him has really progressed us. LOL.??? Babcock’s firing was most definitely about his competence. And his insubordination too.
Somebody on this board did do a write up about their experience working with him before. They spoke of a very toxic environment and how he believes Briere basically ruined what he already new. Said it took 6 months with his old coach to get the bad habits from Briere to get out of his game if I remember correctly. Not me. Might have been @makbeer ?

This is a business. What is wrong with you people? A man lost his job and you are taking enjoyment out of that. Briere needed to go but cheering because a man lost his job.... FFS ... some people are idiots. It's bad karma to take enjoyment in another mans discomfort.
