If he had good stick handling he would’ve costed us a 1st+Love his physicality but still handles the puck like a grenade.
He’s been a perfect fit on our blue line. Keep it up Schenner

Good? He’s not even average. If he had good stick handling he would’ve costed us a 1st+

I Gudas would be a great addition here.I hope we go Gudas on Marchand on him. If he's going to act like a rat, treat him like a rat.
Agreed. Kuch was running around slashing and spearing everyone after whistles. I hope McCabe and Schenn both keep hammering him and send a message
The only player the Leafs have in his class is Clifford and he is way down the charts now.Any other player in the league would probably have been KO'ed by any one of their haymakers.
Good ol' heavyweight tilt. Haven't seen one of those in a long time.
Lol no debate at allAnd who would you rather have on the roster now - Schenn or Engvall? Both were traded for third round picks. Seems a pretty clear choice.
It wasn’t Schenn or Engvall. That was never the choice. And who would you rather have on the roster now - Schenn or Engvall? Both were traded for third round picks. Seems a pretty clear choice.
The point was that they both represented third round draft pick values, not that it was a choice between the two. And Sxhenn offers much more value than Engvall in the playoffs. It wasn’t Schenn or Engvall. That was never the choice.
Schenn is keeping Lilijgren out while Engvall made room for one of the other forwards brought in.
Give McCabe a longer look, I hope we beat Tampa because I can see McCabe getting better as the games go on, you can tell he's adjusting to everything.Luke Schenn has turned out to be our best D so far excluding Rielly's points party. Loving his play.
McCabe has been a disappointment 5v5 through 2 games. 45% CF and 35% SCF in a game we dominated is in line with my eye test. Get on Schenn's level.

Fair enough but he's still not much of an upgrade compared to our D last season. It's clear he's more of a no.5 against this competition. Out classed 5v5 and even fell victim to Perry's pest game. Didn't like how he didn't want to drop the gloves after showing off on a nothing player either. Schenn would have threw the hit then totally destroyed whoever wanted revenge (*pretty sure we get a 2 minute powerplay as cherry on top).Give McCabe a longer look, I hope we beat Tampa because I can see McCabe getting better as the games go on, you can tell he's adjusting to everything.
It's his first playoffs of his career. The tempo, pace and even the way the game is being called is different. He's adjusting pretty good IMO for the role he's asked to play, but needs to be better which Im confident he will be. He just looks like that type of player.
Earlier in this very thread I was crowned on for saying Schenn will be one of this team's best D-men (including better than Gio), was perfect for the playoffs, and should be paired with Rielly. It is a bit mind boggling how Schenn has been a natural so far. Boosh crashed and burned last season once playoffs started, whereas Schenn looks like he's been doing this forever.
Schenns puck handling, especially his passing has been very good in these playoffs. He's making a bunch of short quick passes under tight pressure every game getting the leafs out of the zone.Love his physicality but still handles the puck like a grenade.
He is pretty cool under pressure too... He was moving the puck out of the defensive zone under pressure in OT very well. He’s been great. Yeah, he’s not the fastest or most skilled, but he hits like a f***ing truck, is tough as shit, we NEED what he brings.
With that being said, Lily shouldn’t be sitting. But it’s not Schenn who should sit, it’s Holl.

Schenn has been great so far. Bringing the toughness with his fists as well as on defense. Can't see Schenn getting taken out of lineup with how well he's played. Holl has also played well and as much as I'd like to see Liljegren getting in, unless there's an injury it doesn't seem like he'll get to play. He’s been great. well we have to remember leafs have a history of getting over committed and emotionally attached to players rather than getting the most of them just at the right time. A prime example of this was Dave Bolland who was an absolute stud of a player and a very significant factor for chicago winning their cups. Chicago got him at the perfect time and maxxed out the benefit they could derive out of him. Toronto saw he’s a player you win with, signed him, and he sucked. Nothing like his Chicago days who could have retained him based on past performance but let him go just at the right time. Luke is 33, a slow skater, and relies on a physically heavy game as his bread and butter. This is a prime candidate for someone who could decline sharply within a few years as he gets older and the physical game catches up to him.I couldn't disagree more. I'm also 95+% certain that I'm not the only one who feels that way and he will be resigned.
If he's making close to league min who really cares? Good character guy and worst comes to worst you waive him.well we have to remember leafs have a history of getting over committed and emotionally attached to players rather than getting the most of them just at the right time. This is not to take away from his current performance. he’s been an absolute stud and it was a great pick up for a low price and would be a very significant piece of this run regardless of how it goes. But I think it’s important not to get overly attached. The prospect of a 37 year schenn isn’t the best idea. Each year he will only get a little worse probably. This year and the next are probably as good as it gets and I’m loving every minute of it.
