I agree, the classic mantra "get pucks deep and be hard on their d" is exactly what we need. The lightning D corps is really not great at all. Be ready to pounce on giveaways. Throw the puck in Sergachev's corner and hit him every single time.

I don’t know if Maroon is actually that much of a fighting threat. He’s more of a bully-troll with what looks like high cholesterol.

I actually expect the series to settle down but wouldn’t mind Wayne Train in for a cameo if we can get a lead in the series. Dish out the revenge cold.
He certainly looked brave going after Nylander away from the play. He's definitely a spot picker who wilts when he has to back it up. Not too bright either

What, attempting to injure a star player by hitting him on his blindside without the puck makes you not brave? Jeez, I'm guessing if we went to the main boards they'd be calling Nylander soft and that the refs are always on our side.

I think we might actually want to dial down the Perry engagement and focus more of the hitting and aggression on Kucherov and the Lightning D. Perry is going to run around but the guy you want to distract is Kucherov. And the hits you want to make are on Sergachev, so he’s beat up like a Game 7 Jake Gardiner, keep rattling Perbix and Fleury and make sure the mileage is up on Bogosian.
Yes, the T.B D is key. They need to be worn down. They seem to focus on Leafs D for fights too. Probably intentional.

Just call up Bunting for one game after the suspension and let him accidentally cheap shot Kuch so that he can go back on suspension. Easily the MVP of the series.

He was also going full Macho Man Randy Savage around women and children in the paying audience. A hero to all, really.

Didn't like the penalties McCabe took, but love his grit. He is a warrior, fearless and his play motivates. All Dubas adds looked like the type of players that would rather die than lose a puck battle. Exactly what this team has been desperately missing the last few post seasons. O'Reilly looked phenomenal as well. Can't say enough about the additions. Fun to watch a gritty squad again.

Maroon is a terrible fighter. He just bear hugs and hides his face until the opponent tires his arm out and then the fights over. He sure talks a big game though.

Honestly he's exceeded expectations by a lot coming here.

I'm still upset that Liljegren isn't in this lineup but you'd be insane to take Schenn out, he was destroying Tampa players last night.

In Rielly-Schenn, it’s pretty cool to see our own drafted and developed, 5th overall OFD and 5th overall defensive D play together all these years later. Schenn is a perfect fit in his role.
Wow I never even thought of that.

I can't believe that actually turned out to be a pairing all these years later

Agreed. Kuch was running around slashing and spearing everyone after whistles. I hope McCabe and Schenn both keep hammering him and send a message

Some shaky moments, but he's been better than expected so far. A similar style of player as Lyubushkin, but perhaps because of his experience, he seems to understand and play his role better. Also, gotta admit, it's really cool to see Schenn out there with a Leaf jersey in the playoffs.

Jeannot is one of the top heavyweights in the whole league. Schenn was a bit out of his league but handled himself well and proved to Tbay that there is no "toughness" advantage for them.

I wouldn't mind seeing him pound Perry and Maroon next.
Any other player in the league would probably have been KO'ed by any one of their haymakers.

Good ol' heavyweight tilt. Haven't seen one of those in a long time.

I love him more every game. Forgot how much I love this aspect of the game as we haven’t had it in so long.
And who would you rather have on the roster now - Schenn or Engvall? Both were traded for third round picks. Seems a pretty clear choice.

Hes Boosh with fighting. They do a lot of similar things, Schenn is a little less aggressive in most senses (pinches, pressure, etc) but doesnt skate as well.
