He always did this, playing with Kessel etc ... Just most of his passes get picked off cuz they're nice and flat, always right up the middle

Schenn is literally the same player he always has been. Expecting anything more than a stay at home physical D combined with flat-footed sloth skating and terrible hand eye would be expecting too much.

To be fair, he did have 21 points with Vancouver this year. Sure, he was paired with Hughes which would help your point total, but it does suggest he's not a total plumber with the puck.

Schenn has impressed me, I would bring him back. There’s a shortage of good shutdown right handed defensemen. He’s a good fit with Rielly as well imo.

Maybe 60-40 for Jeannot. Schenn didn't win the fight but Jeannot's hand looked ugly. Not sure how it came across on the radio but the fight was HEAVY. Each of their punches would have destroyed another fighter and they both landed several.

Welp, ate humble pie last TDL with the addition of Gio and it looks like I'm going to belly up to the buffet on Schenn now too.

I wasn't overly enthused at giving up a 3rd for a 30+ UFA defenseman, particularly when we only got a 3rd back for Engvall, but Schenn has been a terrific addition.

The guy is just such a feel good story, and brings a lot to our team. You just find yourself pulling for him, the kid done wrong by us as a draft pick, finding his way back and perhaps ending things here the way it should have gone in the first place.......?

The guy loves being here, he plays his heart out, and he brings so much more than what we see on the ice to the team.

Yeah, I'll take two scoops of that mud ice cream with my humble pie, heated please.......

Luke's a great fit on the team in that he's a piece we needed (shutdown RHD). I also have no way of really knowing this but it seems like he is almost universally liked wherever he goes. Really good glue guy for the room. Him and O'Reilly both.

That clip of him icing his hand in the penalty box showed how cut up his hand was and that knuckle was swelling up and purple...but he was out on the ice after as well, so will see.

Also, I think Schenn got cut up, that is why he went off...possibly from his visor?

You gotta love the heart to get into these fights but 3 fights by 3 defensemen was stupid. These fights were obvious provocations by Tampa Bay in an attempt to put a couple of the Leafs' defenders in the infirmary. Hopefully it didn't work.
