You wouldn't believe how much some people of HFLeafs defended Fletcher's 2nd tenure back in the day.

Unless Holl is traded it'll be Holl vs Schenn in a battle for a line-up spot. Hard to believe Schenn is washed and Holl is still young and learning when they're only 27 months apart in age.

I have to admit, Im more than a little curious to see how Schenn's game has progressed since he was last a Leaf.

His playstyle always lended itself to being more effective with age and experience.

Schenn is a classic example of a good player who was just way overhyped for what he was. No fault of his own having been drafted where he was, but that led to unachievable hopes and expectations. A lot of us -- self included -- thought he was the cornerstone of the turning point to the franchise in 2008.

He settled into his role and was utilized properly, and got two Cups out of it. And good for him. Especially when it looked like he may have been done in the NHL.
