insulting? if you find that insulting it’s better you stop following me around and replying to me. Just because you misread things and hit reply right away before comprehending what I stated isn’t on me. I said “not worth re signing beyond a year.”

We can’t re sign him for the current playoffs because he is already signed. How the heck would I be saying we don’t want to re sign him beyond this year by saying : not worth re signing beyond a year? Re signing means to sign again. So clearly that would not be a reference to letting him go after the playoffs but would be indicative of not signing him for too long when RE SIGNING him after this years playoffs. There’s a difference between a and the.

So we don’t really disagree much. I don’t know what your issue is that you reply to me when we don’t even disagree and continue arguing with me after misunderstanding what I say intentionally or not. It’s not the end of the world to re sign for 2 years or so but a long term contract isn’t the smartest idea which we agree on. If you want to bicker over whether a 1 year contract is best or 2 year then you don’t have the best way to use your time in all honesty. So idk why you would be pedantic enough to hash this out this much and take me pointing out your misunderstanding of what I said in the first place.
This is what you said:

then you were just disagreeing for the sake of disagreeing without actually reading the post and understanding it before hitting reply.

If you don't think that's insulting, there's not much I can do for you here. But if you're in the habit of responding to posts without reading them and you don't think insulting to suggest that that's what someone is doing, that's up to you. Good luck!

that is exactly what I said because that is exactly what you did and when shown how by explicitly breaking it down for you in my last post you now resort to a "no that's you" level reply. Don't bring yourself down like this. I stated very clearly in the English language "not worth re signing beyond a year" and you responded with something to the effect of "he will/should definitely be re signed" as if that contradicted what I said. The fact you emotionally replied without fully understanding, and then when called out for it instead of admitting it just continue to paint a different alteration of reality is just sad.

If you feel so insulted by my posts, stop following me around replying to my posts. Idk who hurt you but it wasn't me.

You said something that was insulting, all I did was point that out to you. You either not understanding (or pretending not to understand) that you're being rude doesn't hurt me at all. You're the one who's following me around in multiple threads, feel free to stop any time.

So what is Luke Schenn, a physical #6 RD?

Seems like he’s one of the better bottom pair RD.
If the Leaf team was filled with toughness Luke could be sheltered and even subbed out game to game.
I think TB did that with him and Bogosian.

As constructed the Leafs need Schenn every game and playing minutes extended beyond the sheltered minutes comfort zone.
It is a necessary role of the dice.

He held up and played very well game 3!!
Help us get over that 1st round finish line Luke and you won't ever have to buy your own drinks in Toronto.

Schenn was the right type needed. With McCabe and Gio (and Holl, which most don't appreciate) also there, they have a certain worker bee, sacrifice DNA that has forged their backend identity.

I was curious and found my post below from Feb 18th thread. Dubas gets Schenn, trades Sandin and picks up McCabe. My dreams are Dubas reality lol. Well played KD.

Couldn't find my ROR suggestion well before the deadlline, too difficult to find via search, it may have been me just agreeing with another poster that I thought ROR would be perfect here at this juncture. He was definitely the one guy I wanted if Dubas couldn't get any other player.

The only long shot I hoped for was Bertuzzi to improve the left side but at least Dubas surprised us all with Acciari, Lafferty and now Knies. The team is thus revamped from last year. This version would beat last years version every time.

Speculation: Leafs are not done making moves?

I'd be looking at a Schenn-type if he can swing it. Or, *gulp*, even trade one of the young Swede D-Men for a more established, strong, shutdown/physical D Man IF that other player has at least two years left on their contract for instance . Both of them have upside and are on reasonable, young contracts but I still think you want few doubts once they game enters the trenches. ESPECIALLY on the back end.
Well done!

One thing that really stood out to me about his growth was his poise with the puck. Can't find the clip but in overtime last game he was pressured behind our net and I thought he was going to throw it away and turn it over or try off the glass and out and turn it over.

Instead he calmly understands he has some time and carries the puck around our net and starts the breakout while two Tampa forewords barrel down on him which lead to I believe a Marner or Nylander scoring chance.

His ability to play a simple game under pressure is by far his greatest impact and it seems to have a calming effect on Rielly I haven't seen since Hainsey was his partner. Mo feels comfortable playing his game and Schenn is talking to him a lot and helping him make good decisions on when to pinch.

There are different types of leaders on every team. Ones who let their play do the talking, ones who let their voices be hear, ones who work harder then anyone else, and ones who provide comfort in times of adversity. Luke is showing all of that right now.

Sure you win championships off of the backs of your big dogs, but never underestimate the value of depth players stepping up in key moments to allow those big dogs to play at their best. Luke is a huge part of the reason we won on Saturday. Not only because of his on ice performance in that specific game, but from the opening puck drop on this series Luke has set the precedent on what is to be expected physically from us. With all of those threats from Jennault, Maroon, Perry and Bellmare being hurled at our bench after the Point collision, absolutely none of them came to fruition. That is no coincidence. There was a point where Maroon was yapping at Marner telling him "your done" or "your dead"...Something to that degree. Yet nothing. Of course those 2 hardly share the ice together, but nonetheless I did not see one single element of retribution after that initial scrum. Anyone going after our guys will have to go through Luke first. That is the precedent he has set.

Not to mention how many guys he's dragged into the fight with him. He's made everyone play like they have 10lb cocks. You got guys like Gio punching above his weight class, Holl stepping up and taking a beating from Perry, Factor coming to the aid of Matthews.

His leadership has played a huge factor in the way the boys are showing up. There isn't this backdown that we've grown accustomed to. He won't allow that.

SO amazing to see him back in the blue and white. It's like he never left.

One can imagine the entire teams free pass in Toronto if they ever won a Cup. They'd have the keys to the city, newborns named after them, cops would stop them for speeding and apologize for having pulled over such an important contributor to the city etc.

The only die-hard fans similar to Leafs fans were the Red Sox fans prior to them lifting the Curse of the Bambino. Not even the long suffering Cub fans were as invested in their team as Leaf fans, the city (even those who don't watch hockey), and much of the country.

Leafs are a global brand, only one of a handful in hockey and probably the most recognizable.

He's been a beauty so far in playoffs.
Much better than I expected. Reminds of of vintage rookie Schenn

Calmly win puck battle, and move the puck on, while standing up to be a leader on the team.

I LOVE what Schenn is bringing, but this feels like de ja vu all over again to his early years when we thought he was going to be Bob Probert 2.0. I'm glad he's really blossomed as a tough as nails top 6 defenseman, but we shouldn't expect him to be the lone tough guy against the Jeannots and (to a much lesser extent) Maroons of the world

The rest of the Leafs are playing like a kid who's dad and uncle just showed up to talk to the bully on the playground. If that's what we need...then so be it. I don't care at this point...I just want a series win and not have them paralyzed by inaction when the chips are down.

Schenn with another strong game.

10 hits, 3 blocked shots, 0 giveaways and team leader in xGF % 5V5

He's actually been a machine this series and Rielly is playing great hockey also.
