I have pretty low expectations here considering we dumped Ritchie. If hes anything similar to or better than Ozhiganov Im good with this.

He's better. He's not going to impress offensively. But he hustles, hits and plays defensively first. I think he'll be a great stay at home partner for Sandin for the rest of this season.

I'd argue Dzingel and Engvall are essentially the same player.

There's only one

I feel like the Russian Bear is insurance for Muzzin who hasn't looked healthy most of the year.
The question is how long until they have the accumulated cap to keep up Lilly? I don't think it is a given that Dermott gets immediately moved if they don't get an offer they like.

I'm not sure why Dubas should get credit for having to waste a 2nd to get rid of that terrible Ritchie contract he signed in the first place. Whatever. I hope Dzingel does something useful occasionally.
Ya that’s what I was kind of thinking

At a glance deal seems decent for the Leafs. Picks up a couple useful depth pieces and sheds Ritchie's salary for next season.

Would imagine they'll end up taking the 3rd. Hard to see a GM playing the long game to wait 3 years for a draft pick.
A second rounder 3 years out is like 6 years away from possibly being considered as anything.
I think you’re right and they take the 3rd next year

Why so much chatter. Dubas got rid of a guy who shouldn't be on the Leafs for 2 guys who will not be on the Leafs.
I want Bathgate. I want a CUP.

im ok with the price. ... i mean without the ritchie paperweight i think both guys are taken for a 3rd anyways , so we unloaded ritchie for free which is good.

i would definatly say overall
lyb + dzingel >> dermott + engvall

dermott and engvall will be gone in the next few weeks giving us back 2 or 3 picks back.

Ya that’s what I was kind of thinking
Of course people like yourself are. If it’s a 2nd it’s 3 years out. Lmao. Ritchies failures are on himself more so than management and the cost was minimal.
If you said lyubuskin + Dzingel for a 3rd or far future 2nd 90% of the people here would happily take it, ditching Ritchie in the deal for almost 0 cost is a typical Dubas W

I like it. Dzingel has wheels so more team speed and from what I have read, Lyubushkin is good defensively and could easily slot in on the bottom pairing and suppress a lot.

Just glad that 2.5m is off the books. Not sure what Arizona are thinking but we'll take it.

Media will love him.
1. Pushes the worst d man in NHL history Liljegren out
2. Good at making contact with other players.

Yep. Thankfully Keefe is a smart guy, and realistically I think we could trade him and recoup the assets we lost for getting rid of the extra year of Ritchie.

I like this move. We have enough skill. It’s time to add some physical aspect to our game. I don’t know too much about him but reading stuff on him the last month this is the type of player we need. His value will be in the playoffs. Still think we should try to add another top 4 but that will be tough.

Rielly Brodie
Muzzin ?
Sandin Lyub
Holl Lilly
You need 8 dman for playoffs and that’s solid depth.
