100% disagree.

He was forced to play a much more defensive role than he is used to or probably expected to play.

He's a hell of a prospect and is a damn fine skater who can get up in the play no questions asked.

he did that but not to the degree of his teammates. Team canada had a very mobile unit and of all the defenders id say he was more mobile than heatherington and that was about it.

He did not wow me in anyway as a skater.

Liked his game, played better d than i was expecting from him and has a killer quick shot. Plus his jersey flaps a lot when he skates which trumps everything

He blew past anyone that was sent on the forecheck. I think he's a great skater.

Ehhh, I'm basing my opinion off more than a few games on TV during a two week tourney. He's a fine skater for his size.

Im not hating on this kid, im just telling you what my eyes saw and that is a pmd who had about a step on the guys he was trying to outskate with puck in the neutral zone. At first it looked like he was on cruise control, but the problem is I never saw him skate with any more acceleration than that which makes me think that is his top gear.

This tournament was my first time watching Theodore and I really like his overall game. I don't get the comments about his skating; I thought he was an effortless skater, very agile, fluid, great acceleration and top-end speed....not the same level of high-end speed as Nurse, but probably our 2nd-best skating defencemen overall.

And its good to hear that, as a primarily offensive defenceman, he was able to earn Groulx's trust with the tough defensive minutes over the course of the tournament.

Im not talking about points, im talking about his skating. He did not blow by defenders like morrissey, nurse, and bowey did.

He has great hands but he does not look like a great athlete.

You have your own opinion but you are horribly wrong. He is an extremely fast and strong skater. He rarely jumped in the play throughout the tournament but in the semi's he jumped up and blew by everyone on his goal.

One downfall for him is he almost plays with too much poise in his end and that can rub people the wrong way. He has so much patience and makes great plays and a lot of fans want to see more of the safe plays and hard off the glass type plays. He always holds onto the puck that extra second and always makes a smart play.

Its surprising to me seeing people write issues with his skating. That has always been one of his biggest assets and its a main reason why he is where he is now and was a 1st round pick... bizzare his skating is in question right now

Wow, really? I thought he was easily a much better/more mobile skater than Morrissey, Morin, Heatherington, and even Hicketts. Probably even a better skater than Nurse, just not as "powerful". Bowey kind of surprised me with how good he was moving the puck with his feet. Looks even smoother/faster than last time I got a look at him.

Yeah I'm not sure about concerns over his skating. Only one probably better on that blueline was Nurse.

He looked like garbage in his own zone early in camp, but was really solid by the end of the tournament. I like him better long-term than Morrissey.

The fact that he showed he can play a shutdown role is so nice to see. Really excited to see him after Scotty gets his hands on him.

Unfortunately, I suspect he will be one of the guys moved for a defender if we make a trade though.

BINGO.. Ive said this all along too. Anaheim has such young dmen already on the team and also a ton of good dmen prospects. Ive been saying all along that I think he will be involved in a deal if Anaheim makes a deadline deal. Every NHL scout loves his offensive abilities and they have now witness his strong defensive play and teams will forsurely be demanding him if a deadline deal happens

Man Anaheim keeps drafting gem after gem.

He has alot of Marco Scandella in his game.

this is the problem with WJC's people use a small sample to form opinions, i don't think theo was even playing on his best side at times. the guy led WHL dmen in scoring for a reason last year, it is apparent to me that he is making a concerted effort to improve defensively to be a better all around player

Didn't he blow by 3 guys when the Canadians were hemmed in last night. He skated the puck past 3 guys to gain center and dump it in.

Nurse and Bowey have the physical talents to skate puck out, but Shea seems to have a better head for the game.

I'm still pretty upset the Canucks weren't able to pry him away in the Kesler deal.

I think the fact he was able to excel as the stay at home guy for the roaming Nurse is a bigger feather in his cap than Nurse skating the puck end to end and getting nothing done but creating a cluster fart in the lines.

Very impressed. Didn't think Shea had those defensive chops, and it looks like he does.

If anything his play at the WJC showed this added dimension and I think even more highly of him now than I did.

You want Bieksa.

He was a beast, really hope we hold onto him and he is a Duck in the next 2 years. Unless of course the deal we trade him for gets us over the top.

And this was also true during his time in the AHL with the Admirals. Of all the things to nitpick, I don't think that skating is one that there is an argument for.

Another 3 point night for Shea

Just got back from the Vancouver/Seattle game, and Theodore looked brilliant out there. He probably logged about 30 minutes, and could've had 5 points. Earned 2nd star of the night even though he was clearly the best player on the ice by a wide margin.

I really wanted the Canucks to draft him in 2013, and I want him even more now.
