If this guy somehow manages to drop into the late first rounds or early second I would love for the Leafs to take him. Been watching this guy play ever since he came to the Steelheads, really think he could be a superstar if he just put it together.

And if he had had 3 points it would be discredited as meaningless points in a blowout. Sometimes you cant win

I disagree, 3 points is the perfect amount of points for a blowout win. Under 3 and it's like you're not even participating, over 3 and you're just showing off.

''Sean Day is having one heck of a game. Strong in all three zones. Needs to be really effective to help boost his way up the rankings.

It's too early to make a decision on Day, obviously, but he looks quicker and more dominant than a year ago.''

If he's quicker than a year ago holy crap must his skating be a treat to watch.

Not sure if there's video of it but during the game on Friday Sean came skating down the right wing defender came to engage, quick spin o rama with puck left the defender pretty much falling into his own bench. Was one of those "HOLY S**T" moments.

Watched him sunday against Sudbury and wow was he awful, dumb pinches and rather then taking his time with the puck looking for a pass or screen he would just wind up and miss the net half the time. Great speed and good defensivly but just dumb. Got sat for the second period as well.

that's always been the problem with Day. Great tools but no toolbox. I never came away impressed with him. He was a big kid, could skate well and seemed to have a hard shot but that's about it honestly. I wouldn't use a first on him unless he turns it around this season.

Though I haven't seen him play this year. Last yr I was impressed with his physical talent. But as mentioned by some already. His hockey IQ is a concern.

Here was our write-up in this week's OHL Weekly Highlights:

MISSISSAUGA: LHD SEAN DAY (2016) snuck in from the point in overtime and slammed home his first goal of the season to lift the Steelheads to a 5-4 win at Saginaw. The 6’5, 230-pound Belgian native who was raised in Rochester, MI had previously committed an egregious cross-ice turnover which allowed the Spirit to take a 4-2 lead into the third period in what was an otherwise solid all-around performance. Day was given exceptional player status by the OHL.

He's way too inconsistent. His size/upside is very tantalizing but he's simply not making smart decisions with the puck. And he's surrounded by some pretty significant skill players. He showed some improvement over the weekend, but at this point there's no way I'd spend a lottery pick on him as previously discussed. If the draft was today, he'd be perfect for a good team with a weak farm system which can patiently groom him.

Eliteprospects has him @ 240LB

He would be one of the bigger players in the NHL already at that weight.

I saw him against Saginaw. Looks around 6 foot 3/4 to me. I could definitely see the 240 pounds though, looks like tank.

He had a nice goal but made a lot of turnovers, one of which lead to a goal IIRC.

Left off of the OHL rosters for the Canada-Russia series.

Right call IMO. Hasn't done what is expected of a player that plays in that series, this PLUS being cut by U18 Hlinka team hopefully is a wake up call. While I see him every Steelheads home game there is always more you'd like to see from Sean.

Yeah, the flashes were always there but the consistency has never been. Haven't had the chance to see him play yet this season but I was expecting big things and it wasn't the ideal start for him to be cut from his own age group's national team.

Uphill battle to be picked in the first round now.

He will go first round
the problem is Hockey Canada
giving ( xcept for McD) out exceptional status again to players who are not necessarily exceptional

so if HC gave them the " tag" all your comments are based on that ....

so give it a rest
