Sorry to hear that. Hope you feel better.

I had a similar situation about 18 months ago where I had a very mild UTI and Urgent Care sent me to the ER. The ER doctor apparently failed to read my chart, so he didn't know that I can no longer take anti-inflammatory drugs and shot me with a powerful one. I was back in the ER the next day with liver failure, kidney failure and about 4 liters of fluid trapped in my bladder. That was a fun few days.
Did they name a wing of the hospital after you as part of the settlement from you suing them? That’s ridiculous.

That’s terrible and glad you made it through, that’s scary!

I sure hope that guy isn't practicing medicine anymore.

My favorite scene with Gene Hackman was in The Royal Tenenbaums. After he reconciled with his son, there is a scene where he is in the back of an ambulance, dying. He has an oxygen mask on, and looks up at his son and smiles warmly at him. There was no dialogue, but it was such a powerful moment.

EDIT - found it. 1:29

Hackman was one of the best. I recently re-watched Unforgiven and he really drives that film, even more so than Eastwood.

One of his more unheralded roles that always delighted me is his performance as the conservative senator in The Birdcage. The dinner scene with him and Nathan Lane hitting it off is gold.

I loved him in enemy of the state

I just listened to the first six songs on Down With the Sickness and it was quite good. Big sound. Big on staccato.

Bacon fat is an excellent medium for cooking eggs.

Bacon is not bad for you. Well, crappy bacon (or crappy anything) is bad for you, so I get the good stuff and save the fat.

While bacon has been demonized as terrible saturated fats, it is actually a complex profile of different fats and fatty acids.

Also, I have learned from a couple physicians who have shifted their focus away from old ideas that the American Heart Association is very quietly backing off their long-standing position that saturated fats are unhealthy above their RDAs.

I can’t find any article to support what they claimed, but it makes sense to me.
