This is likely the biggest win in Latvian hockey. Period. They played out of their minds and deserve to celebrate.

Im a Canadian and am applauding them. That was a masterful goaltending effort from their goaltender.

They didn't play out of their minds. Their goalie did.

They were outshot nearly 3:1 and they waited for a PP to even get scoring chances. Luckily they were rewarded with a bunch of them.

In theory even Canada’s B team should be the favourite on paper. Regardless of the roster, I don’t understand what Hockey Canada sees in Dave Cameron after all these years.

I don’t know, TSN has a bit of an incestuous relationship with the WJC programme at Hockey Canada.

If anything this will add some needed interest and tension to a tournament that has been straight chalk so far

Way to go Latvia! They played a hell of a game and deserve full credit.

Obviously not the best effort from Canada but can’t take anything away from the Latvian team, 100% well deserved. Their goalie was tremendous but overall they executed a very smart game plan and they sold out on every play, every battle, every block. Thats why we all watch hockey.
