See, you are exactly the type of poster I was referring too.

Thanks for proving my point.

See, you are exactly the type of poster I was referring too. Did you “humble” yourself when the Leafs choked again last year? No, you just disappeared and then came back to tell us all how wrong we are about the team when the heat died off. And great, they’ve had an excellent regular season. We all want to see playoff success. I’m hopeful this is the year.

You’re a total hypocrite. Thanks for proving my point.

Yup, exactly the type of poster I was referring to. Took you seconds to pull that up lol.

I agreed that the Leafs choked last year just like you did.

Difference is I didn't let that cause me to be egregiously wrong about how good the team was and is now, like you did.

Good for you. Maybe I should have bookmarked your posts before the playoffs and thrown them in your face after. I’m just not that petty nor do I care that much what you think.

You keep “getting your kicks” though Zeke.

You haven’t learned a thing. You literally make the same posts year after year. But thanks tips.

Are you done now? I’m kind of tired of this childish stupidity.

heheh. you're literally the one who started it. you just can't take it, is all.

I've learned from my mistakes, which is why I recognized that this was an elite team this year and you thought they were a bubble team on the decline.

who are you responding to?

I can't see anything.

that's weird - if you are responding to someone that i've been force-blocked from seeing (because i've never blocked anyone voluntarily), that means they've been force-blocked from seeing my posts too - which means this guy must be logging out to see my posts and then logging back in to respond to them. cute.

and what is he saying i said about the last loss? I've consistently blamed our elite players for choking against the Habs, for the record. We're never going to win a series where Auston, Mitch, and Tavares combine for 1 goal.
Responding to Gary Nylund.

He is not saying anything negative towards you. Just is not on the same page as you when it comes to judging a team based on advanced stats

Whatever makes you feel better lol. I’m not going to derail this thread anymore.

Feel free to keep posting about me if you’d like though.

well, the advanced stats seemed to have predicted the leafs' play pretty well this season and seasons prior, i'd say. much better than most of this board seemed to.

Haha hey, at the end of the day I’m a fan, you’re a fan. Neither of us has been on this board for a decade plus because we want to see them fail. Here‘s to some damn playoff success this year!
Indeed!

Follow the team for 50+ years. Watch almost every game for 50 years, living and dying with them every step of the way. Spending time on this forum because of our huge interest in this team.

But if they lose, we'll be happy. This is an extreme level of stupidity/trolling, complete waste of space.

For those asking why the poll was started before the playoff series it’s because I figured we would get more level headed answers. If we did this poll after I think many people would be answering based on emotion.

He's also requested a trade in the not so distant past. Not sure the Leafs will be given any discounts on a re-sign.

Safe bet he moves on come July 1st.
Cmon! In the not so distant past Willy was home in Sweden sitting out, things change, Willy wanted more money and he got it, Mik wanted more playing time and he got it.

The past is gone its how we move forward that's important.

Mik is emerging and maybe somebody goes Hyman on him and if that's the case then you say goodbye, but maybe he says to Dubas that he wants to stay and a 4 yr 4.75 contract will do it. Willy can get you a young Dman who can play in the top 4 and a prime pick or two. You'd have to do it, common sense dictates it in light of the cap.

Knies is going to be signed for the season coming up, but Jack also needs to be signed(?) And there are still cap restraints that might prevent that, so Muzzin? which that contract probably costs you to move, unless you can move both guys in a pkg.

No matter what the Leafs have some hard decisions to make, and whether it's letting Mik go, moving one or two of the big contracts it's going to happen indeed has to happen, considering the cap position

Think about it this way. The Leafs are a top 5 team in the NHL now on a 6 consecutive playoff streak and yet if they lose in the 1st round the fanbase will explode me included.

Just go look at Post lockout and the Leafs were on a long streak of shitty hockey and no playoffs. Now we have a good team but stuck in a division with 2 out of the top 6 teams in the NHL and our playoff nemesis Boston.

This reminds me of the Calgary Flames or Winnipeg Jets of the 80's. They were good teams but played in a division with Edmonton. Flames had 1 breakthru in 89.

Sucks we are in a tough division but that is the fate of this team.

Next time as a courtesy get it approved first by the thought police.

This is exactly what I am hoping. The Leafsxhave a 89 Flames season. Beat Tampa and make a run. Poor Winnipeg. Very good team but zero chance with how good Calgary and Edm were

As somebody that questioned why this was made now, that is actually a very reasonable justification. Emotion is insanely high post-playoffs, and people are the most irrational during that time.

I would just hope that once the playoffs start, the focus here can be on that and cheering for the team.

Any of CGY and Win could have run the table if they were in the East year after year. Stuck in the wrong division

The Circle of Life in emotional seasons in a Leaf fans World.

The regular season is for unbridled Optimism proclaiming everything is wonderful.
The playoff season is when Realism sets in and Leafs depart early again.
The offseason is when Pessimism rules the roost, when the autopsy begins after another embarrassing loss after what seemed so promising going in.

Then Leafs draft a few guys and sign a few guys and the cycle begins all over again, as a new season starts.

The only way this painful cycle changes for Leaf nation is if the team mercifully finds playoff success with this management team, or if not get someone in here that can.

Time for excuses is over either put up or shut up... You can't keep rinsing and repeating and doing the same things over and over again and expecting different results because that is the definition of insanity. What's with the colours?
Why the recent obsession with colours?

How good can a team be if it loses in the 1st round against fodder like MTL and CBJ?
