There is nothing wrong at all about getting excited but expect to have your opinion criticized when it is coming from your heart and not your head.

I am not knocking Hutson down a few pegs I am sharing both positive and negative feedback when evidence of either is presented. What makes you the spokesperson for biased fans against rational discussion?

Facebook is a great place to share biased opinions within your own echo chamber but this board does not construct algorithms that exclude contradictory opinions/facts so you are going to have to learn to engage in rational/civil discourse. This message board does not cater to your bias and you should embrace the opportunity to explore alternative evidence based opinions and learn to discuss things that make you uncomfortable rather than attack them even when you can't prove them to be inaccurate.
He’s like most prospects and has areas he needs to improve. That’s okay. He’s still a steal where we got him. I’m excited about this pick.

Once again…

Bourque can’t skate backwards either… lol

Sidenote: there are more than a a couple of clips of Mario embarrassing Ray. It happened in a few occasions.

Mario was more impressive than Gretzky imo.

I know this was a tongue in cheek post but just for anyone on here that thinks this is the same as the Hutson play it definitely is not as Mario wasn't originally Bourque's man and it was too late to pivot at that point especially with Mario's reach.

You can find clips of all sorts of hall of famers getting dangled but you can find far more of them defending 1 on 1's like Gods.

What are you doing to me buddy, I thought we were cool :help:......... you know this is going to inspire more attacks lol.

The Astrology thing is an instant walk away for me along with any dogmatic beliefs or conspiracy theories lol. I know I will despise her shadow within a week if I take it any further.

As for the loudest people in the room.....I am aware but on this board you don't get the silent looks of acknowledgement/agreement that you do in real life.

Well you must be a *insert random sign* to say that ;) yup, big red flag indeed

Why isn't every fan rooting for this player to succeed? Unless you're trolling there's no way some people think he's not our best prospect.

I think everybody is rooting for him and we all see his unique skills. This is not Slaf board :)
The question is how much can he improve his skating, strength and defensive play. For me personally, there are three scenarios for Hutson:
- no significant improvement (7th D or 4th line W, PP specialist)
- solid improvement (2nd or 3rd D pairing, PP specialist)
- significant improvement (1st pairing D, PP specialist)

What's wrong with fans of the Habs getting excited about a prospect?

When I get so adamant about a particular team or player, it because I have some deep rooted biases. I can never praise anything to do with the Leafs - but I understand it's not rational. You should ask yourself what makes you the spokesperson for knocking Hutson down a few pegs....
This is such a bullshit argument. I'm surprised you're not ashamed to make it. This is a discussion board where fans discuss hockey and the players on their favorite team.

Hutson has been the darling of this forum. You rarely read any analysis of his play. It's all unadulterated hype. One poster points out an obvious hole in his game and out come the pitchforks and knives. Jeeze!

Perhaps, but keep in mind, a video was posted of Hutson doing a drill where it was obvious he wasn’t supposed to crossover, and the criticism was that he failed miserably … because he didn’t execute the required crossover. I mean, c’mon.

Criticize, get it right = less push back. Don’t oversteer on the criticism. We all realize he’s a project with flaws.

It is fine for players to make mistakes.

The problem is when a player has a flaw that other teams can exploit.

He needs to improve his backskating, because of he doesn't, he will always get beat by speed to the outside and sequences like this will happen.

Opposing teams will know to go to his side when he is on the ice in order to exploit him.

This has nothing to do with mistakes. It's a limitation.

It may be fine during the regular season when he will cost you some and get you some, but you don't play this kind of player in a game 7 of playoffs.

That being said, because a bunch of oversensitive people on this forum will jump on this if I don't mention it, I do believe that he will make those improvements to become at least adequate in the coming years.

Whatever the case is with Hutson, the NHL players are consumate pros and you don't want to give them an inch. I remember during the lock-out, the NHLPA had the Four on Four challenge. When they came to town, they included the local girl, Nancy Drolet who was the no. 1 sniper for the woman's Team Canada. I had my reservations about her playing the NHLers so I had my eyes on her. Could she skate? Yes with the best of them. Could she battle along the board? It was no contact play like she was used to, she was smaller but feisty and she would come out with the puck more often then not.

But the catch was that unlike the NHLers, she would take up to 3 seconds to guard her man. It took 2 shifts for the NHLers to see the flaw and for the rest of the game, it was her cover that got the puck on zone exits and half the time on zone entries. They got it in a matter of minutes and were not chivalrous about it.

So wathever flaw you've got, work on it.

If Hab draft picks were without flaws, they'd all make the NHL roster next year.

I expect only half will ;)

It's his latest height measurement from BU.
Really looking forward to seeing what he does on the ice this upcoming season, as well as what his physique looks like at the end of the year/by training camp 2024.

BU doesn't measure the players and post it. The player and his agent are responsible for reporting height and weight publicly. He definitely has grown, how much I can't say but if you held a gun to my head I would guess that he is not 5'10" but closer to 5'10" than 5'9". I suspect the second that he reached 5'9 1/2" he updated his official height to 5'10", there is nothing wrong with that but if you are looking for the truth this scenario is likely the closest to it knowing enough guys in the industry and how they behave lol.

Hutson size is the main reason why he dropped, Playing on a stacked team probably didnt help his draft stock either. I think he goes top 20 easily after the year he had at BU. I would pick him over Korchinski or Mateychuk quite easily. His IQ and puck skills are high end.

It doesn't matter what is on their page, they did not take measurements and post them. These are numbers that Lane and/or his agent gave them at some point. Just because the college posts measurements isn't evidence that they actually performed the measurements. Like I said, he has clearly grown but as we have seen proven on countless occasions CHL/NCAA/Euro League/USHL etc players often are not honest about their measurements prior to the draft combine and it is hilarious how many growing teenagers shrink lol.
dang, he's looking closer to 5'11 or 6'0 than 5'10.

LOL....come on.

Not trying to be a dick but you have to know better than to go down that rabbit hole.
