He scored again tonight didn't he? I read somewhere he's 2 points away from beating Makar AND Fox cumulative rookie seasons... That's just ludicrous and laughable lol the kid ain't human.

At this point, I'm almost getting scared he peaked too early  The development crew will really need to have a good talk with him this summer, help him set new goals, stuff he can still work on, etc. You want to keep him hungry for more in his sophomore season.

For me it’s the opposite, the fact that he is dominant despite clear areas to work on shows a really high ceiling and trajectory.

Going back even further there was Richer who played the point on the PP, Malakhov, Schneider, Chelios, Robinson, Lapointe, Savard and the unforgettable, the terrifying for teammates and opposing goalies alike.........Gaston Gingras!
Gaston -- Quick, Duck -- Gingras...

That's awesome news.

Although his beliefs on what height he can reach carry literally no weight here lol.
He just got an updated report from the same endocrinologist that rightfully predicted 5'10"? ;)

He mostly just needs to work on his body but NCAA is a great place for that. Not sure the production can get much better though. Could see him having a year with less points but credited for having a more “mature” game.

So long as his puck distribution continues to look elite, and cleans up his play in his own end, he's on the right track. Subban vibes, that his game won't translate to the nhl, but he just ends up being so talented in a few areas the other parts of his game cover his weaknesses.

Lane Hutson doesn't need to clean up his play in his own end. He's pretty elite in his own end especially when the puck end up on his stick which happens more often than not, then the other team starts to panic because it's Lane Hutson.

Once Hutson has the puck on his stick, defensive weaknesses disappear. His only weakness is gap control and fighting for loose pucks, but, even there, he has improved when fighting for loose pucks by learning to interpose his body between an opponent and the puck to gain a foothold forth puck.

Not too concerned about Hutson progressing in all aspects of his game, with Nicolas on the case and Hutson's dedication to improving.

I went back to watch the game against Merrimack and that was honestly one of the best single-game performances I've seen from a D prospect in the last few years. He was everywhere on both sides of the ice. It's even more impressive considering teams are now tailoring their gameplan to him... And he still beats them.

I've also watched a couple Canucks games recently and came away impressed by Hughes' improvement on D. When he first got to the league I don't think I would've trusted him with best-on-best matchups, but now he's a slightly above average defender. I think he started using his strengths, i.e. skating, to gain an advantage instead of perpetually trying to improve physical play. This will be key for Lane: use his agility to attack forwards early, cut through their hands and recover pucks. Ideally, he'll learn to kill plays in open-ice, before he even has to battle on the boards. This will also be the difference between a 2nd pair pp QB or a no. 1 star.

He has some issues without the puck. It's not natural for him. It's a coachable problem and if he puts in the time he'll get better. I'm talking growing into an nhl # 1 D man vs PP specialist that is paired on the top 2 pairings.

Sometime he does look a little bit lost in his own end when the puck isn't on his stick but he's not passive defensively. He's always trying to switch the momentum and as soon as the puck wind up on his stick the other team has to defend against him.
