Lane Hutson is the real deal since day one. Everyone should be hype to have that type of talent in Habs system.
And other teams are kicking themselves for being blinded by the prevailing conventional wisdom that Hutson was too small.

Small could be a problem in the o-zone. But I predict he'll be electric even if he plays forward 5 on 5 and qb on the pp.

There are plenty of scouts who are not big believers in Hutson and I am sure that there are GM's as well. Hutson is a far bigger deal with fans than he is with scouts from what I have been told anyways. The Lane Hutson phenomena is a divisive topic at every level and should be extremely interesting to watch. There are parts of his game that I love and parts that I really do not like, hopefully he can fix the latter issues and completely win myself and others who have doubts over.

First 20 mins:

Lane says nobody told him he was going to get the toughest defensive assignments and minutes. He understood the job prior to the tournament. The forward group was deep and didn't need him to push the offense from the back end.

His brother Cole who is draft eligible he compares to Adam Fox.

He has Mesar took a huge step from last year to this year and was a threat all over the ice. Felt he always had the puck, high motor, high compete.

Feels that an underrated part of the team was the goalie tandem, because of the forward talent. But he feels both were solid in the back end. Spoke very highly of Fowler.

Second 20 minutes:

About Celebrini - People don't see him off the ice, he is very hard working, very smart, attention to detail, focuses on all 200 feet, very smart player. He says when he watches him play he sees Sidney Crosby type of player.

He is not a trash talker, he lets his play do the talking. He doesn't like to boast about something and then not back it up.

His father is from Manitoba, he goes there in the summer. They grey up Oiler fans (his father).

He wants people to keep criticizing him, saying he can't play defense, saying he is too small. He looks forward to proof you wrong and shut you up.

Right now he is 5'10 160. He was 163-164. He lost weight during the World Jrs. Working on putting it back. He doesn't have a weight number in terms of NHL play.

Goal is to win the National Title. Feels they have the squad to do it this year. Doesn't feel Boston U has played a full 60 minutes yet.

About the Habs:

He is in a good spot in Boston U and his brother Cole is joining next year. All 3 brothers would be together. He will only think about turning PRO after the season and listen to the Habs. If they had told him after the draft to turn PRO because it was best for him he would have done it.

His chemistry with Reinbacher started off the ice. They got along off the ice first and connected. He feels the last development camp was a glimpse into what the future could be.

MSL is really nice and open to everyone. He is the hardest working person in the organization. Everyone follows his lead.

His biggest attribute he feels if work ethic, second competitiveness. He is the type that he wants to practice after practice, because he wants to get better and he wants to win.

I hope Hutson doesn't pull a Cutter Gauthier after talking to Grant.
He says in the interview that he's going to listen to what the Habs tells him. But it sound like he might want to go back for a 3rd years and be with his two brothers at BU at the same time.

The opposite of being between a rock and hard place to say the least.

5’10. Cool. Glad we can put that to bed.

It would be a perfect scenario if he stays one more year in college .

More time for him to put some weight ; because they don’t play much in the NCAA.

It would also give us more time to evaluate our young LD and trade Matheson at next TDL (2025)

From what you have been told?

By whom?

It's hard to gauge the value of your affirmations when it could be coming from your neighbour's boyfriend's cousin who scouts for a Sri Lanka beer league?

I don't think that the NCAA holds any more secrets for Lane Hutson and he has been working his D-game while still producing at high levels there.

Kid needs to be challenged to keep progressing, in Laval, if not Montreal.
