I don't think that the NCAA holds any more secrets for Lane Hutson and he has been working his D-game while still producing at high levels there.

Kid needs to be challenged to keep progressing, in Laval, if not Montreal.
He may also want to play with both of his brothers and that only happens if he stays in college one more year. Don't be surprised if that happens

“He’s 5’10, but only if he takes a blue pill before he takes the ice…”
Word on the street is that viagra is actually a legal PED, something to do with improving blood flow. Chad Ochocinco said he used to pop some before games haha

It would be a perfect scenario if he stays one more year in college .

More time for him to put some weight ; because they don’t play much in the NCAA.

It would also give us more time to evaluate our young LD and trade Matheson at next TDL (2025)
He need to play in the AHL next year. He is second in points in his team. Need to take the next step to his journey. I would also love to see both Reinbacher and Hutson play together in Laval.

2 maybe even 3 D are gonna need to be moved eventually here before I can even guess what theyre gonna do with Hutson/Reinbacher/Engstrom at seasons end

He said his brother don't want him back because he wants to run the PPas a joke and he was pretty clear that he wants to play in the NHL as soon as possible, he said it in the past too.

How about trade neither? :)

But I wholeheartedly agree with your argument about not trading away elite talent. Hutson takes over games the way few players can. At the level he’s at he’s absolutely elite.

The real question is if his game translates to the NHL. I think it will. He needs to put on some muscle but that’s not hard to do. 20 lbs over the next couple of years is very doable.

Hutson’s the most exciting prospect we’ve had since Caufield. It’s be crazy to trade him away. Now if someone offers Cellebrini or something like that… different story. It’d never happen but if it did, it’d be too good to pass up.

But the idea of us giving away our 10th, Hutson and Beck for Cellebrini? No freaking way.
Hope for 10 lbs lean. 20 on his frame unlikely to happen. And if it did, he’d really slow down

He was also wearing a Habs shirt while saying all of this lol......he is definitely signing at the conclusion of his college career.

you need a high school degree to understand the conditions on that pick so idk if we can or will

In regards to us giving our first along with Hutson and Beck, the draft projections are all over the place. I’ve seen Lindstrom as high as fourth and low as 10th. I’ve seen Eiserman 2nd and 8th(!)

With the situation Klöten and rumours, already, that Reinbacher is heading to Laval sooner, rather than later, this idea of Hutson - Reinbacher forming a pairing in Laval to start next season is rather good.

Xhekaj - Mailloux should also get to start the season in Laval to further cement that developing chemistry.

Both Savard and Matheson can keep playing the wrong chairs a first pairing in the NHL until the trade deadline when they are both shipped off somewhere else for a young NHLer and futures.

Then, we can bring up both burgeoning pairings in Laval (thereby crushing al lplayof fhopes for the AHL-affiliate, I am just now realizing ;))

Matheson - Savard
Guhle - Barron
Struble - Harris/Kovacevic

becomes

Guhle - Struble/Barron (not a fan of Barron)
Hutson - Reinbacher
Xhekaj - Mailloux

after the trade deadline.

Habs might look to get a pairing partner for Guhle or Hutson via free agency, depending on whom Reinbacher plays with.

Montreal is not trading their 1st, Hutson and Beck.

They will drafting of Celebrini, Eiserman, Lindstrom, Brandsegg-Nygard or Catton with their pick, depending on how the lottery goes. a few selected D, between these forwards, will ensure that.

Let the draft come to us. Giving up too much when trying to choose a kid that young can be the wrong move, with the later picks coming out on top instead.

We have way to many LD. If you trade Barron. It would leave you with only Renbacher as the RD.
