Henrik blew that one. His goaltending has been inconsistent for the last two months. Part of me feels that his age is catching up to him.

Georgiev needs a bigger role. Quinn needs to stop relying on Lundqvist in the hopes of a playoff push.

Henrik should not have gotten more than 55-57 starts this season. Georgiev should have gotten the rest.

Next season I wouldnt give him more than 50-52.

I think he will be far more effective with more time with the goaltending coach, and rest in between his starts. He can still be an EXCELLENT starter. But its been the same issue each year. He has 2 months of all star level goaltending, followed by inconsistent goaltending. Give him some rest.

It’s not a real game until FD frolicks his way into the PGT and blames everything on Lundqvist.

People have been saying that all year and it hasn't happened. The only time it will is when we trade players at the TDL. Then the wheels may fall off.

I feel like most of the wheels already fell off a few months ago.

I don’t think we were-are inherently the worst team in the league. I penciled us in for fourth to sixth worst. We are currently 1-3 points off that pace, pre-TDL.

Covering the pass on the two on one

Covering the pass just like he was supposed to.

Doesn’t he have to play the passing lane? It was a 2 on 1. If he goes offer to toffoli then the pass comes across from a prime scoring chance

idk watching it live and especially on replay I felt like Skjei was too passive and could have closed on Toffoli with Kempe way behind the play to begin with. I think a smarter and more situationally aware dman recognizes that and breaks that play up before it comes a 2 on 1.

Yeah I think if he was aggressive on Toffoli he could've stripped him before the 2 on 1 developed. That's a play that McDonagh would've made, having that instinct to be aggressive knowing he has the skating ability to force the issue and break it up. Skjei chose the safe play to drop back and give them the 2 on 1 which isn't necessarily the wrong play. But you know, that's what makes McDonagh an elite player, the ability to know when to make that play.

I think Toffoli got lucky he shanked his shot and it fooled Hank.

Chytil and DeAngelo are the only ones to be concerned about. Kreider and Zibanejad will be okay, and the rest of them likely don’t matter, aside from maybe Buchnevich.
Yea, but that’s kind of my point lol

Also, I would add Pionk, Skjei, and Nieves to the concerned list.

This team is not good enough to get a lead and lock it down and turtle. I never agreed with the strategy but under AV the teams were strong enough to do it. This team stinks and the only way for them to hold a lead is to keep pushing the pace. Not sure why they can’t ever do it. The Kings weren’t really pushing back much at all either and looked dead until Pionk iced it, lost a board battle then let Kopitar Walk down unimpeded and pick his spot. Brutal sequence for him there. Keeps getting his chances though was right out there PKing the next shift. It’s quite clear when watching these D men than he is the weakest. Even Smith has been better than him lately.

I've said for years that the one thing that separated the Rangers from the truly elite teams was their lack of "killer instinct". I, too, am bewildered by the fact that they can play so well for two periods, get a lead and then suddenly just stop doing what got them there.
