Henrik blew that one. His goaltending has been inconsistent for the last two months. Part of me feels that his age is catching up to him.

Georgiev needs a bigger role. Quinn needs to stop relying on Lundqvist in the hopes of a playoff push.

Henrik should not have gotten more than 55-57 starts this season. Georgiev should have gotten the rest.

Next season I wouldnt give him more than 50-52.

I think he will be far more effective with more time with the goaltending coach, and rest in between his starts. He can still be an EXCELLENT starter. But its been the same issue each year. He has 2 months of all star level goaltending, followed by inconsistent goaltending. Give him some rest.

Every time.

I mean, good result in the grand scheme of things, but every ****ing time against that team.
Funny you shoukld mention that. Earlier, when we were dominating......was thinking about Kings fans must be thinking.....haha, we dont mjnd losing this game.......we won our cup at your expense. Now, we allow you guys to surpass us (eventually) in the standings we get a better pctg. chance at a top pick. We get Hughes and you guys can have Kakko. Or should we wish it that we get Kakko? Me thinks that scenario.

Quinn pissed, we know what he'll do... 7 D officially trashed, Pionk sits next game. Hank sits too, Georgiev plays.

Yes. If you ask most goalies, they prefer that defenseman to take the pass away so they can be set for the shot versus moving across
Yeah, that's fine if he steps into the path of the pass so it becomes a clear break in, instead of backing all the way up then lying down with the pass still very possible and still very much a distraction for the goalie from the puck carrier. @I Eat Crow @bl02

@JHS what dont i understand?

not a bad result. Though we would win in regulation. Tough stretch coming up. We could go 2-8 or 3-7 in our next 10.

Sweetheart schedule has them lined up nicely for a win on Wednesday with Boston playing the 2nd part of b2b's and their 3rd in 4.

This loss must be crazy demoralizing though. They lose on Wednesday and they're a Friday loss away from tailspin city.

I blame the NHL. If it were a 58 minute game, we would probably have another cup (in this lifetime) and a win toniğht.

Giving up leads late to the Kings and losing in overtime apparently for the rest of time after 2014. It haunts me. Toffoli got lucky on that goal in OT, he shanked his shot and it fooled Lundqvist. Still it never should’ve gotten there. LA stinks and the Rangers we’re in total control until they stopped playing the way they did the first 40 mins

2 good periods and then a lazy and slow third period.

This team is not good enough to get a lead and lock it down and turtle. I never agreed with the strategy but under AV the teams were strong enough to do it. This team stinks and the only way for them to hold a lead is to keep pushing the pace. Not sure why they can’t ever do it. The Kings weren’t really pushing back much at all either and looked dead until Pionk iced it, lost a board battle then let Kopitar Walk down unimpeded and pick his spot. Brutal sequence for him there. Keeps getting his chances though was right out there PKing the next shift. It’s quite clear when watching these D men than he is the weakest. Even Smith has been better than him lately.

Good point but I doubt we beat them twice in a row.

So letting the guy that actually does have the puck walk to the net is less dangerous than the guy who hasn't even gotten the pass yet? I'd much rather he takes one guy out of the play instead of neither.
It's easier for the goalie to square up to the shooter than to move side to side to try and make a save after a quick pass :dunno:

A game like this could ultimately be the difference between a 5th and 6th/7th pick when all is said and done, so can't be overly upset. It always hurts to see your team loss (especially the f***ing Kings), but it kind of needs to happen

We're 6 points out of the #2 spot right now... that could be a two weeks worth of games after Hayes and Zucc are gone. Still dreamin' we can land Kakko

Not a good game for hank at all.
Which is weird because I thought he looked really good in the first 40, had to make a few very tough saves. His 3rd was okay until Kopitar scored and all of the sudden he looked scrambley on every shot. 2nd 3rd and 4th goals are all goals that "aren't his fault" per se, especially the 2nd which was an atrocious shift all around by who else but Pionk, but that he needs to stop at least one of them. Then again, that tying goal was more bad luck than anything that puck doesn't go in 99 times out of 100 with where it went and where Hank was, but the hockey gods just won't let up with having LA tie us late and beat us in OT. Still, agreed Hank needs to be better I'm sure he would agree most of all.
